I'm sure you guys don't want pop-up ads on your site, but you've got one. When clicking "preview" while writing a message, two pop-up windows appear just as a certain banner ad appears at the top of the page. Not only must I close the offending windows, this causes an "error on page" on my DDR Freak window, and it's like I never clicked "preview" at all because my message remains unaltered.
Here's the offending banner:
Here's the two pop-ups it creates:

I haven't seen any yet, but I'm glad J Dogg was so quick to try to fix the problem. I wanna give J Doggs some props where props is due. Of the several boards I'm on, this is by far my favorite. So thank you to J Dogg and the other mods and admin for keeping this site so well-kept. The warning point system is used to great affect to stop flaming and postwhoring and the like. So again, big ups and thanks. _________________

Our friends at DDRFreak would like to tell us something, give us a little guidance...
Why else would they barrage us with the same pop-up 10 different times in a span of 2 minutes?
Quick everyone! Let's all go to cupid junction! It'll be fun! (Or at least someone thinks so. )
I'd like to make a suggestion: that popups only be shown when someone visits the homepage. just getting them everytime I click on a link to another part of DDRFreak is really annoying. Please terminate the pop up (or make it so we don't see it 50 times a day). |

JDogg doesn't want any pop ups at all.
He contacted the appropriate people, so if the same AD is still showing they probably haven't done anything about it yet. If there's another one that's showing, post what it is so that he can deal with it. _________________

Same here. Now the damn things are somehow avoiding the Google blocker.
Why is it all of a sudden starting to be like Newgrounds? _________________

dj.JinX ver.2 of HV, that comment was completely unnecessary. Do that again and you'll get some bonus warning points.
Anyway, I've contacted the people again about the new pop-ups. Let me reiterate that I hate pop-ups, pop-unders, interstitials, pop-ups that pop into some area of the screen that you can't see, and whatever other underhanded advertising internet tricks. _________________

What's an interstitial? BTW, I hate those untitled windows that appear off the screen. Any way to see the source for them, or move them to where you can see them?
I've never gotten the Cupid Junction ad, and I never turn on my pop-up blocker unless I'm going somewhere it will be needed.
The only thing "strange" lately is that the "A&B Sound" banner ad makes a shopping cart crashing noise (deliberately) every so often. Surprised me to hear it the first time. |

Interstials are ones like at IGN where they make you look at a page before going to the real page. _________________

Noooo. I'm getting some cupid junction stuff too. and Meet hot singles "click here" and it has a picture of a chick with the side of her shirt falling off and I am gonna get in big trouble if this happens on my computer at school or even at home.
EDIT: Fuck I can't do anything on here cause of these damn popups. Just to let you guys know, I have now gotten a small virus from this popup. It's nothing major because my computer detected it and deleted it. Also I have this hacker alert thingy and shows if somebody is trying to get into your computer and everytime the popup shows up the hacker alert goes off, but does not show the IP address like normal. You might want to check it out. _________________

The ad causing the CupidJunction popup is the "Hit the target and WIN A FREE GIFT!" Flash ad. It seems to only do it periodically. I've gotten it twice in a row, but now I have it on this reply page, and it didn't generate a popup. I then reloaded the reply page, got the same ad, and another popup.
Also interesting is that this ad never did this before, so TheUseful.com must've just recently changed it.
EDIT: I added falkag.net to /etc/hosts. Now, I still get the ad, but I don't get the popup anymore. I guess there are two versions of the ad, and now I only get the non-popup version. _________________

Some types of pop-ups might have been aquired from other sites. There is a type that will pop-up randomly no matter where you go. I've cut my pop-ups down to 5 a week with good 'ol Spybot. I have barely anything on my comp now that I didn't put there, and trust me, a lot of people have a lot of these things on their comp. _________________

This is strange though... I've never gotten this popup. I'm wondering if it is indeed this site, or is it because of some adware somewhere. _________________
