In Stepmania 3.0? Because I got this event comin up, and I put certain songs in a folder I'm going to be using, but all the songs are in some wacko order, and I want them in my own order, and not all crazy. So, is there any way of doing this?

by default it's sorted alphabeticly... u can change this...*loads sm* go into options, aperance options and then go down to whell selection... never makes it so tthey arn't in groups, no 1st mix, 2nd mix (folder names) group, or a, b, c grouping... no matter if u sort or not.. the 2nd option, always, makes it so u will have groups for everything... so the first one will say, your first folder name, followed by the first song in that folder... (if you have 1st mix, 2nd, and so on as folders, 1st mix will b default cause it's first in the alpha-numeric) then when u sort, it will sort to abc, and have the a group, the b group, and so on... if you use the 3rd option(the default) you won't c the songs in the folder groups, but when you sort, you will see them in the a, b, c group and so on... hope this makes sence.... so if your hosting an event, i suggust making a folder and naming it "a" or "1" and putting the songs u want into it... oh, i fergot, i have my sm setup to by-pass the folder selection, u wouldn't c it sorted like that unless u picked all music... if you pick a folder, it will just have the songs and those sorted by name... oh well, hope that all made sence...!

O.O ok, that didn't make too much sense, I got lost at the beginning when you said go to whell options (I'm guessing you meant wheel options) yeah, I don't think this option is available it 3.0 final. Because that's what I'm running, not 3.9 alpha 7.

c if i can't simplify this...

now, if i understand the question correctly, you want the songs to show up in a certain order inside a folder, so your not using all music, and u really don't have to worry aboutt he folder sorting... the easyest way to do it is just to name each folder with a number in front of it... because the songs themselves are also sorted alpha-numericly. afronova prime evil will show up b4 so deep, and .59 will show up b4 afronova...

.59
afronova
so deep

but lets say u wanted so deep on top... simply name the so deep folder with a number... like 1. so deep
so now it will show up:
so deep
.59
afronova

hope this makes more sence

well, I just tried it, and it doesn't. I even tried renaming the name in the sm file. Nothin. It just stays sorted by its strange way of doing it by difficulty. Also, it doesn't sort in alphabetical order automatically.

EDIT: Nevermind. It works in 3.9 Alpha, and I am now using that as the EMS USB 2 adaptor works much better on it. So, if somebody could, close this thread.
