I made a DDR scoresheet in MS Excel, for anyone who's interested.

The biggest feature is that it allows you to "level up" in different categories (singles, From GF&DM, IIDXBoss?) based on your song scores. Light, standard, heavy, and foot levels are all included in the "experience" given per song. It's pretty self explanatory, idiot-proof (you won't accidentally mess it up), and easy to use.

You can get it here. Please copy and paste into browser. It is on a free account, so if it goes down, just try again tomorrow.

http://www28.brinkster.com/ninjafetus/random%20stuff/DDR%20Scoresheet.xls

The sheet is protected so you can only select to boxes to place scores in, and won't mess up any formulas. For anyone who wants to mess around with it, and see how it works, the unprotect password (for all three sheets) is "ddrscoresheet" (without quotes, obviously).

Any feedback and errors pointed out would be appreciated. The only feature it's really missing is doubles oni scores, and I don't want to find the max values myself. Also, I might be putting this up as part of a webpage (which will then keep track of everyone and rank them against each other), so if enough people express interest, I might get working on that sooner.

If you read this, or downloaded, thanks! "We are happy if you have enjoyed!"

If your gonna post a link make sure it works and also it should be in your sig. I think this counts as advertising.

Ok, first off, I did say "Please copy and paste into browser". Brinkster doesn't like direct linking... if THAT didn't work, tell me again.

And, I wouldn't consider this advertising. It's not another site, it's just a DDR related thing to use if you're interested.

Stop giving this guy such a hard time. And pretending that you're a mod. He didn't post a link to his webpage, just a spread sheet he made to help people. Anyway, the link works fine now.

Ok I got it but it won't let me put in any scores except in the Extreme section all the other sections it says the value you entered is not valid,A user has restricted values that can be entered into this cell.

That's odd... I just d/l-ed it from the site and tried it, and it works fine for me. It won't let you put anything but positive whole numbers in the sheet, though, so if you tried 13.6 or "fish" for some reason, that won't work... Also, you are only supposed to put values in the page labeled "great count"... you aren't allowed to change the "foot difficulty" or "score calculation" page.

If you want to, try opening it in Excel, and go to Tools...Protection...unprotect sheet. Password "ddrscoresheet". Then, click on one of those cells, and go to data...validation. If the settings aren't "whole number greater than or equal to zero", then something's up... I don't know why mine would work and your's not, though...

There is also a typo... the points are not 100* foot difficulty. They are foot difficulty times 100 for light, 125 for standard, and 150 for heavy/oni.
*EDIT* Fixed typo.

Now I just need to start recording more than sdg's and aaa's, though >_<... I'm only level 22 in heavy singles...

Nice work.

This is exactly what I wanted, but with 10 times the functionality.

Just tried it out tonight. Haven't gotten too far into it yet, though.

Extreme = Level 3
Max 2 = Level 7
Max = Level 4
4th Mix = Level 1
DDR Home Versions = Level 2
Keyboard Mania = Level 14
GF/DM = Level 4
Pop'n = Level 7
IIDX = Level 3
Everything else is untouched.

Yet, somehow this makes me a Level 4 Heavy and Level 8 Oni player, and a Level 2 overall player. Explain the grading system for a moment.

Oh, I see where you're confused. The overall level isn't an average of the levels... it's over the entire maximum range of points.

For each light song, the max score is 100* (# of feet). For standard, change 100 to 125, and for heavy, it's 150.

The levels are the percentage of your points to the maximum. So, in KBM, since I AAAed Pink Rose on heavy, but didn't play anything else, my level is already at 25. However, if I have an AAA on DamDaridam heavy, and a black flag on Silent Hill, it only gives me a level 6 in third mix. That's because Third mix has a lot more songs than KBM.

The light, standard, heavy, and oni levels are your total percentage over the game for that difficulty in all mixes. It's not an average of the levels for each mix, but a level for all the points in that entire difficulty.

The overall level (not including oni) is your percentage for all the songs, and including oni adds your oni scores and the maximum oni scores to your points and the total points, respectively.

So, it emphasizes completion a lot. I could have put "average level", but then if someone just put the two songs they AAAed on there, they would have an average of "Level=100", even though they didn't do that much.

I hope this explains it more! E1.gif

If you follow the directions I gave to J.R (above), you should be able to unprotect it on a normal computer before you transfer it to your PDA... The password is really just so nobody accidentally messes something up and has to write everything over on a new sheet again E1.gif

And thanks, Regular Size Irish (what a name!)... I'm glad to see that you'll be tormenting yourself with this. devil.gif

I hate you, because I tried to open the file and now excel won't work correctly anymore. And I have a lab writeup due monday, so that's really not a GOOD thing.

technos> Ok, get the unlocked version at

http://www28.brinkster.com/ninjafetus/random%20stuff/DDR%20Scoresheet%20unlocked.xls

Remember, copy and paste, you can't just click it. If I'm correct, though, Excel viewer is just that. You can only view, and I don't think you can change things, or save. I'm not sure, but the sheets are unlocked on this one. If it doesn't work, it looks like you'll just need to find Excel somewhere. Eventually, if enough people like this, I'll put it on a web page so you won't need Excel, but for now, this is all I can do frown.gif

stephanie> Holy crap, that's not good. I don't know what went wrong (it seems to work for other people), but I apologize... the only thing I can think of is a corrupt download or some different Excel version error. I don't see how a different version should matter, but I'm running Excel 2002 on an XP system... If you can't get Excel to open at all, I think your best bet is to probably re-install it. (Unless someone else knows what to do).

As far as your lab, I'd say just write it up at your school library if there's absolutely no other computers you can use.
