Lights work button doesn't?

I got a dpr2 pad (my second unfortunately >.<) and the light flashes up on my down arrow but the arrow doesn't press. Anyone know what's up with this? Also, anyway to fix arrows that don't work PERIOD (the right arrow for my 1st pad)? Thx anyway =/

EDIT: (Fixed one pad in a way, i think the problem with the pads is that their conductors (or whatever) get messed up. On DPR2s, during gameplay, u can use like the X button as DOWN and the O button as RIGHT, so I used aluminum foil for my RIGHT button and connected it to my O and my (whatever's under that, square i think) and it started working as an O button, so it got back to a RIGHT button so I'm happy, anyone know about my other one though?(the down arrow?))
