Do you guys ever find it funny how people react to ddr. I'm not just talking about the old ladies in your local arcade that look awkwardly and give you money to keep them entertained. I'm talking more on the lines of the media. On a local radio station down here in MD (98 rock) the djish people were answering phone calls and an uncle called in talking about his nephew playing ddr. It was funny listening to his interpretation saying stuff like he was "jumping around all crazily" and how everyone around the machine was "dancing" with him. (think he meant shadowing) Then the dj's all started laughing and joking about the game. I just find it funny how people react. Anyone have interesting stories regarding people's reactions to ddr?

the most common reaction ive seen is everyone in the room who plays will start following you around asking questions if you so much as MENTION DDR. Aside from that, its fun to get little kids interested so they start playing and you can tell the to dance on the 2nd player pad while u enjoy a free game.

I find it hilarious when people watch me play, then get on the machine and try, and fail miserably. It hasn't happened in a while, but it always cracks me up. And then there's my friend's mom, who says "Why do you guys play this game? You're all sweaty and gross!"

Hmm.. some people just think it's wierd cause they don't know what it's all about. Why don't they just find out instead of making fun of people that play it.... disgust.gif devil.gif

Yeah, what I like to see is the DJ's playing the game. I'll probably own them if I played any of them. It's stupid enough they laugh at somethin they probably don't know or really seen.

Here's what one guy was telling me.

Him: Can I ask you something?
Me: Yeah, what?
Him: What do you get out of this?
Me: Let's see, a good workout, great exercise, fun, more experience...
Him: Well, you should take that stuff to a club and they'll be girls all over you, grabbing you, you could take some of them home, get some.
Me: ... I'm not into that. Besides, I'm far from excellent.
Him: Yeah, I've seen some players that are just insane. Well, you're getting nothing here, just paying $15 when you could pay $5 to play at the clubs.
Me: No matter.
Him: Take it into consideration though, seriously. You could get a lot of fine ladies in your pants.
Me: Right.... *cough*
Him: But look at you, what did you get out of playing here? Nothing!
Me: I don't care. I'm having fun and that's really all that matters. I don't play this game to gain some sort of reputation. It's fun, and that's what it's all about.

Then the typical:

Playa 1: Man, look at this foo.
Playa 2: Dude, that's tight!
Playa 1: No way man, he looks so gay.
Me: Stick around so I can pull your manhood out of your eye sockets, kid.
