And good point about Paranoia Eternal. We could either make another entry in the DB for the Extreme one, or link it up as the same file, but put the new steps at Maniac2...I dunno.

It would not be correct to give them Challenge steps, because that's different. Maybe tag a marker on them?
i.e. Love at First Sight [Euromix 2 Version]
Love at First Sight [MAX2USA Version]

PARANOiA ETERNAL (for EXTREME) maybe? while it's not the correct name it'd be an easy way to distinguish that version from the other versions.

I'd have to go with that.

My two cents: I'd prefer to see the arrow colors changed to the kind used on the zyx site:

1/4 steps - Red
1/8 steps - Blue
1/12 steps - Purple
1/16 steps - Yellow

But since 20 different people want 20 different color schemes, it ain't gonna happen, I guess.

Still, Red/Blue really should be switched around, since Red 1/4 and Blue 1/8 is the scheme the game uses for Solo.

These should be the Official Arrow Colors once and for all...

1/4 = Red
1/8 = Blue
1/12 = Green
1/16 = Purple
Freeze = Green
1/32 = Dark Red

Its just like in the game, but the 1/32 steps are red (Tsugaru Heavy), so it would be easier to tell the difference if they were darker. flash.gif

So the DWIs Sherl0k used are the DDRUK DWIs. I'm assuming those are continuing to be used here. When people report errors, are they being forwarded back to DDRUK so the DWIs can be corrected? Conversely, will you be keeping up-to-date on the DDRUK updates?

SPUI, i'm pretty much the one in charge of obtaining and updating the DWIs. i check DDRUK daily for updates. as for errors in the DWIs, none have been reported... only errors in the chart parser.

Beginner steps - If people actually have DWI files with them, we'll put them up. I don't even recall if every song on Extreme has beginner steps. If so, then no one's even gone through and found out all the difficulties yet.

The DDRUK DWIs have beginner for all the songs on Extreme but not 7th (since zyx-19 had those). As for old songs, I've been slowly getting those and submitting them to DDRUK. In addition, there are some songs that had old beginner steps that are different from the new steps.
Here are the songs that had different steps on different mixes (not counting beginner or things like 16ths on 2nd or club becoming triplets on a later mix):
Cutie Chaser Morning Mix
Sexy Planet
Celebrate Nite
Paranoia Eternal
Love At First Sight
I think that's all, but there may be some I forgot.

There was this error, unless this was an error in the parser:

After the 15th step on Jam Jam Reggae (amd Swing mix) after the 3 down and 2 right arrows, there should be a blue up-right arrow instead of a down-right arrow ( riiight.gif I'm sorry if im picky but its my favorite song to play on ==> ghost.gif ) and the combo is 252. Thanks for all of the charts!!!!

1/12 notes exist only in DDR simulators. It'd be better, IMO, if they were instead quantitized as 1/32 and 1/64 notes.

I meant them to be 1/3 steps like in Afronova Expert. Oh and im not sure but i think on 3rd mix on Gentle Stress (AMD Sexual mix) Expert theres "1/3" steps ... but on DDRMAX for Playstation 2, those steps turn into a 1/4 right arrow then 4 three 1/16 clusters. These are the steps...

I'm pretty sure it's different because I went into edit mode, but if I'm wrong then sorry! riiight.gif

visual produce- There certainly is 1/12 notes in ddr. A fine example would be the ending of Afronova (these are not 1/3 notes, they are every other 1/12th note). Also, there are no 64th notes.

Also, I just put in the Standard steps for The Least 100 Seconds, and they ended prematurely. About half way through, although I am not entirely sure where, the steps here are missing a chunk (about a measure's worth). And yes, I did include the first 10 measures being empty. Along with that, the BPM changes don't seem top be included in the chart either (unless I overlooked them).

Other then that, I like the new step charts are nice. I like freeze arrows having colors so the timing can be identified. Good job!

Actually the triplets at the end of Afronova are quantized to 32nd notes if you measure using a screenshot of training mode, despite the fact that the resolution is 64th notes, and some of Captain Jack's "48ths" fall on odd-numbered 64ths.

I have the zip of zyx charts for Extreme on my fserve. If you want the old ones, I think Shuey of DDRUK has them all.
However, I suggest staying with the triplets. That's what they're really supposed to be, even if the machine can't handle them exactly, and that's what it's easiest to think of them as.

I agree with this... our job with the step charts is NOT to mimic what a DDR machine displays. It's to make the step charts readable and as informative as possible, and if displaying triplets is more useful than random 64th notes, that is probably a better idea.

One suggestion I have would be to switch the blue and red colored arrows.
When playing on Type2 in any DDR mix, or Note in Stepmania, the quarter notes are red, and the eighth notes are blue.
Because of this, the stepcharts can be confusing at times.

Two more things.
I'm suprised this one wasn't noticed earlier.
Dance Dance Revolution (the song...duh E10.gif) isn't on the list.
sherl0k verified that the steps were in and it was entered, but the stepchart list doesn't have a space for it.

Second,
can we get rid of the quotes around 20,November (Double)?

Ok, I think that it's useless to keep on arguing about the step color, one thing that everyone seems to be concerned about is the switching of the Blue and Red arrows... I think that that should be the only change for now since only a few of the songs have 1/12, 1/32 1/64 1/64 or whatever steps, the freeze arrows are excellent and i think that having the correct arrows now is better than having the right colors. So let them fix the little bugs and just leave the color thing alone. Oh and whatever happened to that gentle stress thing did anyone confirm if there was a difference between PS2 Max and 3rd Mix??? Thanks for all of the charts once again!
