Months ago, I took it seriously cause I never got a Heavy AA before or Extra Stage for the 2 years+ I've been playing. I was always working on my PA and not really have fun, one time I failed a song I usually pass prolly was a bad day and flipped the machine. I sometimes take things serious when going for that AA, PA, or just focus and have expectations to do well. I have fun by doing silly things when I DDR....after all I don't just dance for PA but fun too. biggrin.gif

I know I like to play for fun. I dont really concentrate on AA'n songs unless some jerk pisses me off and makes me shut him up....but that rarely happens. Honestly DDR or any game for that matter is meant for fun, some competition, but i dont think trying to AA or AAA songs and losing money on it is much fun... disturb.gif

I take DDR way too seriously.. I've been trying to get better at PA and passing oni courses but I haven't been improving much, and my stamina's gone down, mainly because since school started I've been stuck in the house 5 or 6 days a week. I get so frustrated that I yell very loud, and punch things, and occasionally kick ticket games.

Yes, I take it seriously. But I also have fun when I do. Most of the time I pick songs that I enjoy playing and don't really care if people have heard them too many times. I still try to do as best I can on those songs and have fun doing so. E1.gif

I do, but at most times I play for fun. But still, when tournaments are coming up, practice, practice, practice.

If there is a time when I have to take DDR seriously, it's when I have impress people or come up with my own routine (and that just started recently). I'm the half technical/half freestyler, who looks for a good score and good flow. And there are always people to impress when playing, even if it's a small place. And for me, there'se never a time when DDR gets bored, it's just that I'm preoccupied with more things that I could handle, which answers the question as to why I haven't been playing in a couple of days...

I take it seriously enough to play several times a week with the intent of getting better, so yeah. E7.gif

it's rather taking the people serious instead of the game. Such as hot shots and arrogance in the state of NY. Believe me it's pathetic.

To the point where the NY forum gets locked? I guess that is quite bad.

I'm pretty much a mixed bag on taking the game seriously. I'll play for fun and usually pick a hard song to suicide at the end, usually levels I haven't been able to pass, though I'll get pissed if I fail before then, especially when it's the first song thanks to a brain fart or putting the wrong foot in first. I usually have to be serious when people keep pushing me to do a song that's not even close to my level and act like jerks about it.

I'm not like that, but I do take my accomplishments kinda serious due to the fact that I'm the 2nd best girl in all El Paso.

Do I take DDR seriously? Damn right I do. My problem is that I usually don't enjoy myself as much unless I am doing reasonably close to as well as I should be able to. Like, if I get a C on a song that I normally get an A on, it annoys me very much. I usually have fun playing, but those off days are just killer.

You shouldn't be anoyed by what you got, at the end of the day you play DDR for fun. If you worry about all that then it would stress you out. See I don't mind failing long as I had a fun time trying E1.gif

I didn't take it seriously until I got motivated by some out-of-towners that pretty much owned me....then I just have been playing my butt off ever since, continually striving for the AA and AAA's

Of course I take my DDR playing very seriously. Mainly because it's all technical. I've never believed that games and fun should always go in the same sentence.

I believe that it was meant to be taken seriously or the Konami would not have gone through all the trouble that they went trough to make this series. If you look at every facet of this game it just oozes technicalities. There are so many ways to do things. Just look at all the different types of numerical data that can be recorded and look at how precise one's timing as to be. There are so many different extremes that one could take his/her skill to. The sky is just the limit as to what can be accomplished, and if you can't see that then maybe you FUN people should be playing the spider stomping game in the back. laugh.gif

Last but not least if you take all this data and record then you could put together a pretty mean PA Data Base or SpreadSheet.

No, I don't play DDR seriously. I play for fun and a workout; which is the only reason I'm still playing. I also have a goal. To reach Heavy mode and beat There You'll Be. (I'm on standard mode now.) E4.gif

I play semi-seriously... lol because I play sometimes just to have fun... and other times I play just to acomplish something that i haven't done before... like... Beating last message hidden! haha well something like that... but for the most part I play for fun. If i ever took it seriously it was probably because some person cracked an insult about DDR or... someone criticized my playing when they couldn't do better... or just criticizing me is bad enough... riiight.gif
