ok people learn what trance is for christ sake. sana morette? the whistle song? dam dariram? drop the bomb system sf mix? radical faith? electro tuned? stay? these songs are NOT trance.

THE BEST trance songs in ddr are easily Drifting Away, So Deep, and I Feel...

sana morette - yeah, some sort of weird cuban beat stuff
dam dariram - jap pop
the whistle song - club techno (early '90's style)
drop the bomb sf mix - techno
radical faith - house/techno
electro tuned - house/techno
stay - techno

other really good examples of trance in ddr are the shining polaris, ghosts, more deep (ver 2.1) maybe. bah i just got outa bed, too tired to think of more.

looks like you need a little information on the sound of techno

techno is a rhythm based form of electronica - full of intelligent percussion patterns and snare drums. it either lacks melody or has a very minimal and subtle one. speeds range from 125bpm (the earliest techno tracks much like juan atkins, kevin saunderson, derrick may, etc.) to 155bpm or so (harder stuff like andreas kramer) its more groove and soul oriented and in my opinion kicks the living shit out of trance anyday, hence i have no favorite trance songs

stay, whistle song and dtbssf are definitely NOT techno

radical faith is breakbeat, specifically big beat or progressive breaks (i tend to stray from iidx genre names)

electro tuned sounds like acid breaks to me

to everyone: for gods sake DO NOT CALL IT TRANCE/TECHNO OR VICE VERSA. to do so would embarass the name of actual techno

actual techno artists include: ben sims, marco carola, adam beyer, technasia, voodooamt, adam jay, etc.

I don't know if Tears counts (the subtler distinctions between genres of electronica always failed to stick in my head), but if does that's my favorite.

If not, it's Drifting Away, followed closely by So Deep and Ghosts.

It's gotta be Ecstasy. I didn't mind playing that song over and over again until I finally learned to pass Lesson Oni on MAX US. happy.gif

Drifting Away gets an honorable mention, as does Aoi Shoudou.

Silly kiddo. I gotta get my trance whore buddy Aly (Minuet Gorj) to help me out with what I'm gonna say.

There are many many different types of trance out there... and I have to say The Whistle Song is definetely trance... but it's not your commonplace trance. Just because a song doesn't have soothing electronic melodies (such as So Deep), symphonic harmonies (such as in Ghosts) or haunting vocals and piano/synth beats and sounds (such as Drifting Away or i feel...) doesn't mean it's not trance. Listen hard to The Whistle Song.. it's definetely Jungle Trance... it has the right melodies, sounds, rhythms and concepts to be known as Jungle Trance... it could also be acid techno, but that's if you take out some of the background noises...

Drop The Bomb -System S.F. Remix- ... yeea this is trance.. it's not your average trance, but it's trance. I just listened to it and... yup.

But yea.. I can't believe someone said Sana was trance xDD No offense or anything... o_O.

Vanity Angel is stealing my heart away.... <3 What an awesome song

I just think it's hilarious how people can say The Whistle Song is trance then bash on other people for saying Sana's trance too. That still cracks me up. E9.gif

To be anal, Holic is techno, and Era is drum&bass.

And why the hell am I reading stuff about somebody saying Sana Mollete is trance? That's like saying Love This Feelin' is Eurobeat.

Era and Ghosts.

Beyond that, I am a big fan of the rest of the trance songs, too.

Ok, I'm done
