Hardest Cata?

I think that Dead End on Doubles is the hardest cata.
As for single, I'd say Dance Dance Revolution. I can pass all the 10-footers except PSM Oni, but I can't pass DDR. For some reason I suck so badly at it it's not even funny.

Hardest? Cartoon Heroes. Why? Simple, it combines all the elements of a hard DDR song and puts them into one, very compact package. It has eighth runs, eighth runs with jumps, gallops, freezes, quick 32nd patterns, and a fair ammount of speed.

So Deep isn't as hard mainly because it's a set of 3 patterns repeated over and over again. It's a stamina song, thats it.

Other hard songs include: Rhythm & Police, Futuhara's Theme, Afronova, and HV:AM.

bag follows the music PERFECTLY - every step is parallel to a note in the song. the reason bag is a 10 is not because it doesn't follow the music, but because it's SLOW - reading 24ths and 32nds at 65 bpm is NOT fun, and is MUCH harder than doing the same at 140 bpm.

I think that So Deep is the hardest cata to pass.
Dynamite Rave is the easiest one to pass, imo.

I guess Im just weird..

I started playing DDr like 2 months ago and started doing heavy after about a month. I never tried and 8 or 9's until like 4 weeks ago. The first cata I did was Ryhthm and Police, I failed the first time on the run right before the second set of gallops. I played it again and I passed it with a C. A few days later i played CSFILSM and i passed that with a C. I played Dam Dariram, and I failed it twice, then passed with a D. So why can I pass these hard 9's but not even do good on an 8. I still have trouble on songs with alot of chaos, but turning and galloping and crossovers seem to be easy for me, I dont know why.

Anyway I would say the hardest cata is Cartoon Heroes because I fail earlier then So Deep.

Definitely the My Fire 4th Mix Plus steps. I'm pretty sure that's the last Singles cata I have left to beat in all mixes.

I'd have to go with So Deep. I can do R&P over and over, no problems, Cartoon Heroes is just fun, and not that bad if u even slightly know the song.. How was rain of sorrow even mentioned? That song is soo ridiculously easy. Even kakumei is harder IMO.

Burning heat is tough, but once you figure out the beat (try it once and you should be good), it's pretty easy, and at the worst, it's a little tiring.

The only cata I've never passed without a mod is so deep, for some reason I never get the rhythm towards the end, and on top of that, it's hard. All the weird gallops are WAY more tiring than simple stream or even cross-overs could ever get.

Uhh... letsee...

HVAM is tiring, but there's NOTHING tricky about it.. unless you can't remember where that freeze is and that just makes u fail every time.. still, not much of an obstacle, and even though end of the century is a little slower, the steps are much trickier, so I might even consider EOTC harder than HVAM, or maybe on par with..

Orion Civ. Mix always gets me because of the way you get used to 8th notes and the semi-funky (but on quarter/8th note) rhythms, and it does that string of double quarter notes at the beginning I can never seem to time right... it just feels weird to me..but once I get going it's easy.

Wow I wrote a lot...

... anyway, SO DEEP IS HARD. The oni 9s are pretty tough too - if you haven't considered those, they might be some of the hardest ones...

And I know, lots of people think cartoon heroes is insanely hard.... well, I disagree... I think the song is just too fun to be hard. It's so up-beat and cheery, you hardly even notice that it's so damn fast.

god that made my day..

anyways. yeah, so deep is one of the best songs in ddr because the steps are original, fun, and go completely with the music. the reason its so hard is cuz its such a stamina drain, and someone else mentioned this too - i cant beat it on 1x. i have to play it on 2x to do pretty good and 1.5x to do mediocre..i still have yet to beat it at the regular speed.

R&P was hard just because it was one of hte first catas i played when i was still learning how to play ddr. but its really easy to get down, and not even that fast comparitively.

HVAM - simple. good song to play when ur first gettin ur stamina built up and are getting used to faster songs.

and burning heat is just hard cuz of the speed..u gotta have fast feet..but it goes with the music really well..

just a quick question since im too lazy to look it up, are either vanity angel or radical faith catas? or are they both only 8 footers? i think radical faith might just be an 8, but thats really fun..and vanity angel, maybe i just gotta play it more but i thats a tough song for me..

and electro tuned and kakumei arent the hardest catas at all, but they're really fun too btw

Am I the only one that thinks So Deep is an easy cata? At my very worst I don't full combo the final run, but I rarely ever get more than 30-40 greats on it. I guess I've just gotten good at songs that follow the rhythms... I've gotten 11 greats on Xenon recently. Now Cartoon Heroes is probably the hardest 9 TO ME. Milage varies between people of course.

Arguably Cartoon Hereos. The steps are everywhere.. Wears the crap outta you more so than any other catas. So Deep 1x is much easier IMO, guess it really depends on what kinds you're good at.

i think when you're looking for the "hardest" 9 you hafta split it up into 4 categories
1. hardest with mods. (assuming you haven't "learned" the song)
2. hardest without mods. (assuming you haven't "learned" the song)
3. hardest to oni.
4. hardest to pa.

i think it would be
1. cartoon heroes
2. so deep
3. rain of sorry
4. fantasy
