i have these igniton pads from cypher games or something
and ive had em for about a month. THe problem is that after not playing for about a month and both my pads have broken. One of my pad's down button has broken and when i press it the game doesnt get a response and the LED light doesnt light up for it although all the other buttons work fine and the game responds to it. Teh other pad however seems to have all buttons respond with the LED light but the up button doesnt really respond well even tho iit does work but not as it should like all the rest do. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?? help greatly appreciated |
Does it have a hard insert, or a soft foamy insert? Do any of the mymybox ignitions have hard inserts like the BNS or RO ones? |

Okay, I did the Chubby Pad Mod.
It works really well. The acryllic isn't what I thought it would be, it's a softer, really flexible plexiglass type thing. But Make sure you go with acryllic. I doubt the acryllic will break anytime soon. But the only thing is that it's pretty freakin expensive. I ended up paying about 25 bucks just for the duct tape and acryllic sheets. I didn't need the carpet tape or the sticky stuff, since my wood is pretty heavy and doesn't move around a lot. It looks DAMN nice too. I love it. Good Job finding a nice mod. _________________

You should do the chair mat mod and then duct tape the pad to a piece of plywood. |

Wow, I'm surprised that the inserts are hard. They look like they are very soft and foamy. Are they very hard? |

The chair mat mod is when you take a chair mat and cut it so that it is the same size has the insert that goes into ignitions, and then you place it on top of the insert. |

Like homeboy said, the first pad is cheap because it is a cheap pad; not bad for an advanced beginner pad, but DO NOT get them. The second one is expensive, and I don't know why because I heard that they fall apart a little under half a year. The Ignation pads are your best bet. Believe me, Im poor too, and I have devoted my time ever since I logged on here to find the best pad that is worth more for your buck. So far, the BNS DX-Xtreme pads seem the best way to go. Red Octane pads aren't that bad either, but they cost more. |

I was just wondering how good the 'Official Konami Dance Pad' that comes with the DDRMAX2 bundle is?
We have 2 MyMyBox Premium Pads (2.5b) and although they are still usuable, they are starting to die after 3 months of heavy use (sticking arrows and ghost steps). Would the Konami pads be an upgrade? downgrade? Should we avoid them to get something else (which is not that easy since we are in Canada).
I'd rather stick with soft pads since I don't really want to spend the money on metal pads and I don't really have anywhere to store them when we aren't playing.
Let me know,

Is it really wise to mod a cheapy pad? I mean, you still end up with the slow reaction time, the plastic bunching, the same peice of junk; now there is just a bunch of plastic or wood or metal or acrylic crap on it! Will it actually make the pad better? I'm very skeptical, and have yet to see a mod do better than a plastic pad. |

Ok, I've seen alot of reviews on RedOctane and BNS and Cypher about the dense inserts and was wondering about this one at Level Six (http://www.levelsix.com/products/playstation2/deluxeDDR_v21.shtml). Anyone actually played on it for extended periods of time? Is it better to just go with, say, BNS? What about the dense insert instead? Is it better than the hard? Should I stick with just modding my old pad?
Oh, as for what I have now is an old RedOctane pad that's about 5-6 months old and very close to being in need of modding (I just haven't decided if I want to mod or go brand new or both ). |

I don't have a digi cam, but a pic really isn't necessary. You basically buy a chair mat (the hard plastic mats that have spikes on the bottom for use with office chairs with wheels), place it over your insert (the hard insert that comes with the ignition pad, you have to connect the 3 pieces first), then use a permanent marker and make an outline, then get a pair of tin snips and cut out the outline, the place the chair mat so that the spikes sink down on top of the insert, then you place the whole thing in the ignition pad. |
