I'm just curious... is anyone bothered by the amount of advertising on DDR Freak? Like, the number, size, and placement of the ads, etc.? _________________

There is no way I will implement pop-ups. That will never happen here. _________________

And believe me, that commitment is appreciated.
... as some of us log in from work computers where we're not able to install new programs such as mozilla or pop-up blockers *cough* _________________

o.o *mansexes j dogg like crazy*
Really, the ads are not bad at all. If you could find a way to do without them, more power to you. But they don't bother me in the slightest. |

i always thought this site did a hella good job with the ads. they're right there where you're sure to see them. but they aren't an annoyance when you're browsing through the pages |

Yeah, recently, I've started to get annoyed at the overwhelming amount of advertising on IGN and Blue's News. I know Blue's has been 'round for-freakin'-ever, but still, the rate at which the ads are encroaching means that the site is rapidly accelerating to being pay-for-premium, or shut down. IGN...well...I don't mind the Insider stuff, but the whole "Ronald McDonald shit McGriddles all over our site!" was really annoying. I don't usually go to IGN Central, but their one-time lead-in ad code was buggy, and kept tossing me there despite the fact that I was going specifically to IGN Cube or IGN Pocket.
DDRFreak? Ha. It's a freakin' angel compared to any of the other sites I go to. The only problem I've ever had with advertising here is when the ad host tries to pull a fast one with a popup-generating ad, or even a Flash-embedded intrusive ad. And those problems have been few, far between, and not your fault.
It could be a *lot* worse - It could be run on EZBoard. _________________

I like the Google ads on the right side as well.
Oooh, just noticed the eBay ads on the left.
Are you pulling in money from those things? Well, I assume you would, but it may be some sort of other thing they've got going on. _________________

maybe a way to only have banner ads that dont give a scroll bar would be nice
(the add for "1000 smilys" gave me a horizontal scroll on my browser and thats kinda annoying) _________________

Mr Dogg the 1000 Smilies also give me a side scroll bar... don't suppose you can ask the advertisers to resize the banner a bit? _________________

There's a ton of ads in my opinion. But, since they are relegated to the front page, it doesn't bother me. It's not like other sites where they are everywhere and you can't escape them. |

There was one ad that was on the top banner, I have only seen it once. It played music, pretty disturbing at that if you don't expect it.
Then again I have only seen it once. _________________
