i personally like beats because songs like so deep seem so much better on heavy than standard because of the steps.

Hmmm.....

So Deep. Great song. Everyone knows it.
End of the Century...goes with the lyrics AND with the beats at different points. I like it.
Burning Heat: actualy goes with the beat.....I like it.
La Copa de la Vida: goes perfectly with the lyrics...but I still hate it.

I perosnally like songs that go with the bassline of the song better than lyrics.

Ghosts is my favorite, the steps go perfectly with the already awesome song. Burning Heat is also great for that. And Abyss. Gotta love Abyss.

Oh, when I read the title I thought you meant "to the beat" like songs with all quarter and eighth steps. Yeah, I like songs like So Deep, too, but it's because they follow more complex rhythms and melodies in the music. Of course, the same thing can happen with lyrics, too.

I guess, for me, it depends on the song and which element of it has the most interesting stuff going on. Most songs that have lyrics tend to mix it up, though, between following the beat, the lyrics, and whatever instrumental components it has. It's difficult to narrow most of them down to one or the other or the other.

So Deep, though... it just rocks all around. It's one of my absolute favorites.

Not enough songs follow the lyrics. I wish there were more. Potentially, there could be one step for each syllable.

Songs that follow a tricky beat are fun too, like So Deep and Burning Heat. SD should be a pie though.

No matter what, songs were the steps follow neither just piss me off.

Honestly I dont care either way. I play a song only for the sole reason that it is a good song. Steps mean nothing to me.
