|
|
I'm really into KBM and the closest machine is like 40 minutes away, with gas that can really add up. I can probably get one for $1500-$2500 (for a 3rd mix like they had at SHGL). To people who have bought their own machines, is it really worth it or does it just pay off to stick to the arcades?
I was thinking of importing the PS2 version but I'm afraid modding my PS2 will break it somehow, iono I'm just paranoid lol I'm emotionally attached to it |

for the price of a kbm arcade machine, you could buy a ps2 japanese version 2 keyboards and kbm 1&2 and have money left over... The home version is really nice, and has the additional benefit of having the rollerthing on both sides of the keyboard. |

Get a Japanese one, then, or a premodded one.
You'll spend at least $1000 less. |

If you are willing to spend that much money just to play a keyboard game, why not spend that money on an actual Keyboard and learn to play the keyboard. |

)I think the question was regarding a KBM cabinet or the home version, not whether or not it's cool or sorry. Also, if he wanted to just play the Keyboard, that'd be a whole different story. That would be like IIDX players wanting to be DJs.
Anyway, yeah, if you think you're able to buy a machine, don't blow off so much money. If you have that capability, just get an actual Jap PS2, get the KBM bundle (a KBM Keboard and KBM 1!!! ), and KBM II (contains KBM 2nd and 3rd Mix), or you can score both KBM PS2 games, and buy a USB Keyboard, which will allow you to play Doubles.
EDIT: Don't worry. You're not the only one emotionally attatched. _________________

If you are so worried about how much you spend on GAS, do you think it would be smart to spend this much money on one game? |

Umm...if you don't have the money to buy the machine, you can do like DDR/BM/IIDX just buy the neccessary tools, import chip, and your set! _________________

I actually agree. While I love KBM, it's not a Bemani machine you'd want to own. It's replay value will eventually diminish and the CS versions are actually worth having. If you want a Bemani machine, I'd choose IIDX or Drummania... _________________

Then let me continue...
Do you even think the guy who posted this originally is still interested in buying a KBM machine? His post about it is 5 months old. _________________
