Yes, but I recommend that you get the Messiah 2 Pro, it's way better than the magic chips

My PS2 is on the way along with the Magic 3.1 Mod Chip. Now I am going to get DDRMAX from a friend but I am thinking about not getting DDRMAX2 simply because I think DDR EXTREME is awesome. I played it at the arcade and it has tons of songs. I know it doesn't come out until october. Anyone else on the same page? BTW Im a newbie and I only have Konamix on PS1 (been playing for about 3 weeks now) |

Extreme is gonna have a lot of song but its only going to have about 1/3 or 1/4 of the songs that are in the arcade version. If you can afford it get both, I am. Anyway this wrong sticky to discuss that. _________________

Why would it have less songs? this IS the Modchip/IMPORT thread so doesn't that make it legit to talk about an IMPORT here? |

The Extreme arcade version has ~250 songs, IIRC. The PS2 version will have "at least" 100 songs. _________________

Extreme contains songs from all the previous DDR mixes. It wouldnt make financial sense for Konami to include all these songs, they would never be able to sell their previous mixes. OK NO MORE EXTREME TALK IN THE MODCHIP STICKY UNLESS IT DIRECTLY RELATES TO PLAYING THE GAME USING YOUR MODCHIP. _________________

You know, I just thought of this... If the fliptop cover requires a boot cd... Is there any reason to have the fliptop, as opposed to just using the PS2 door? Or is there a real need for the fliptop? |

Well, my DMS3 fried. So, the install guy is gonna put in a Magic 3 with a switch to turn it on/off. So, my question is will the Magic 3 work perfectly with every DDR game? |

quick question. Are there ne external mod chips that do not require any patching? Or are there any other ways to play imports other than using a mod chip. |

Kidchameleon,
No one knows if the swap magic 2.0 disks will load it. I would assume that they will but until we have the game in our sweaty little paws we will not know.
Here's the good news though. They are working on swap magic 3.0 that is supposed to solve the whole dual layered thing among other fixes. I'm hoping it will be out soon. There is really no use in getting all worked up about whether 2.0 will load it or not though. Just wait and see. _________________

a few things...anyone else have a similar problem...my psx ddrs play perfect on my ps1, but on my modded ps2 they are outta synch..
(ps1=psxchange ps2-modchip)
I would say the odds of extreme being on a dvdr9 are pretty slim, max2 usa is 1.2 gigs....a noraml dvd is around 4.7
besides dvdr9's costs quite a bit more to press.

I think know why...I patched it to play on my ps1, but when trying the original, i had no problems with my ps2....My ps2 is messiah 2 pro modded, ps1 was just a psx-change...

Sorry to be a repeating troll, but what is the need for a fliptop, if all you really need is a swap disk? Is there any point to the cover? If there isn't, can I just get a swap disk w/o the cover? |
