Is there any way to reset the song records on Pop'n Music 8? I just finished building my controller and I was hoping to keep track of what songs I've beaten on a full sized controller without losing all my unlocks... |

You can unlock stuff. I think 5 or so songs are unlockable in Best Hits mode. |

CD Japan is NOT a rip-off - they charge retail price and shipping. (CD Japan IS the English department of a major Japanese retailer.) To get prices much lower, you'd have to live either in Japan or California, or buy a bootleg, which is a fate worse than death. _________________

WORD! I finally finished Sangoroku de 8 (or whatever!) and unlocked 321 Stars and all of those other goodies, but I had a few other questions...:
-Is there any way to permanantly unlock the Anubis song and Love Love Sugar, etc. instead of only being able to play them as your final stage?
-How do you unlock all of the movies and CG screens? I got a couple of them on the map, but I am clueless towards how I unlock the rest... I've done the Challange mode a few times and gotten points, but I'm not sure how to use those points...
-Are there any characters that you can unlock outside of Sangoroku de 8?
Thanks! |

You need to play the song in Arcade mode at least one time before you can play it in Free mode.

Specific amounts of points in Challenge Mode give you a movie, a CG or an EX song. There's a guide at www.gamefaqs.com
To get all the songs in Free Training you have to play them in Arcade mode. |

Is there any way to unlock all of them for play during any stage in arcade mode (first, second and third songs?) |

even after you've unlocked everything in the game, 'normal' arcade mode limits your song selection for the 1st two stages (except for 'secret' songs you unlocked with sugoroku de 8 - all of those songs are always available from the first stage in 'normal' mode).
the best thing to do is to play 'challenge' mode. all the songs are available from the 1st stage, plus everytime you complete 'challenge' mode you either get a new cg, movie, or a chance to unlock an 'EX' version of a song for play anywhere that that song is available for play. (note that all of the 'EX' versions are not available in the 'EXtra Stage,' but only in the 'Bonus Stage,' can you access all the 'EX' versions that the game has to offer). |

Gah, and I can't even pass all of the nine-line stuff yet... I can do anything under a 24 (I think) on it though... |

Got my pop'n ASC today. Would have gotten it yesterday but I slept through the delivery attempt. x_x
Played for a bit - it's fun, albeit noisy. Takes a little more getting used to, though ^^;
How are you guys storing this thing? I ended up putting it inside my RedOctane Ignition 2.0 carrying bag, for lack of any other place to put it - it's larger than all my shelves and drawers o.O _________________

For those that are actually konamistyle members, they are currently running a survey to see what people are interested in for pop'n 9 SP. Questions include how expensive one is willing to pay, what kind of extras one would like (a V-Rare seems to be included in all of them, so V-Rare 7 is pretty much assured!), what your favorite character or artist is, where you first played pop'n, etc...
Obviously, you need to be able to read and answer in Japanese, and you must use IE for some reason. But for those who can fill out the survey, this is pretty neat and is a good chance to give Konami some feedback on the excellent SP sets that have come out.
( By the way, when they suggested what kind of extra they should include, we said they should do an artbook... anyone with me? I like artbooks... ^^; ) _________________

Word, time for some boasting... I passed Hip-Rock and Special Cooking today, along with the Fresh Hyper and Mind EX. I was wondering what some good songs for me to try and tackle now would be. I still haven't passed Melo Punk, the ending theme from Pop'n 6, and I haven't tried Des-Reggae, but I'm sure it'd hand me my buttocks. Are there any good Hypers to try? I passed the Mind EX by pure luck, seeing as I randomly selected it when I earned the EX stage on Challange Mode, and I'm not good enough to pass any others. What are some good Hypers to build some skills on? |

I'm partial to Touch and Artemis (sorry, I forget the genre name) Hypers. And Splash EX. _________________

Hmm...Ragtime Hyper? Swedish 2 Hyper? Neo GS Hyper? Keep working on Des-Reggae 9-line, too.
It's hard to come up with specific songs to play for skill improvement in Pop'n Music. Seems like Pop'n is one of those games where suddenly things just click and you can do things you couldn't do the last time you played.
Just keep trying as many songs in the late 20's as possible. |

'touch' hyper has lots of button pressing, but is nice and repetetive. also, 'flower pop' hyper is kinda like that. i found that those songs helped me... 'new age remix' hyper is also good. it helps with multiple button presses... playing 'tropical' normal or hyper will help with rhythm stuff... 'winter pop' hyper is hard, but is vital to learning some important hand techniques.. i ramble |
