Max 300, Sakura, Xenon, blah, blah, blah...

They're all good songs, but whatever happened to all the older ones that (almost) everyone loved? I'm talking about the days when beating Paranoia on (what now would be called Light mode) was an accomplishment in itself? Or what about Afronova? Even Gentle Stress had more recognition back then.

Oh well, I'll always love Boom Boom Dollar.

I know! Really! (Although I really like all DDR songs, the older ones were just a hell of a lot more catchy)

...

(Although if you listen to BBD KOG and Rhythm and Police, you'll realize that KOG G3 mix is just an excuse to play "Go! Go! Go! Go!" over and over in the background. E13.gif )

Yeah, well those "Boring, tired, and cliche" songs paved the way for the "better" one in the most recent DDR's, so show a little respect.

Perhaps because those songs would be considered easy to alot of people now. E15.gif

Edit: It's like how I just AA'ed Paranoia KCET clean mix (heavy, 7 greats) on my shiny new MAX2USA disc today. ::smile:: A year and a half ago I would not have even imagined passing it.

Yeah, good point. I used to think that "Drop Out" would be the hardest song ever, and it would NEVER be beaten. Konami sure likes to prove me wrong. riiight.gif

The problem with good DDR songs is that everybody discovers that they are good, and then everybody plays them. In turn they get overplayed. Sakura is a great song, but it got seriously overplayed in a short amount of time.

What happened? LOL

I'll tell you...

1 person beat Paranoia basic and become the best, then another, and another, and so on
Then someone beat Paranoia trick and the standard was raised
And then someone beat Paranoia Maniac (gasp)
This all happened within the first month the game was out, so unless the place you played sucked, the days of "I beat paranoia basic" shouldn't have lasted more than a month...
As people began to beat and master the songs at their hardest level, newer DDR versions were released with newer songs with harder step patterns. and the vicious cycle of Supply and Demand lives on...

Or it could be that every single Paranoia was the same except for the base and people found out and got tired of them. (All 2,397 of them)

The reasons why nobody plays the old songs as much anymore is because of exactly what you said:

THEY ARE BORING, TIRED, AND CLICHE'D.

People have played these songs to death, and they want fun, new songs to play. Oh, and "show respect"? To what? DDR songs? blink.gif
