Alright well, do I want a cobalt flux? Hell yea..do I have the cash? no =P...So until that fateful day(most likely when I get a job after the first few months of hecticness at school), I need another soft pad..Im borrowing one from a friend, its well its a soft pad, its not that awesome, and its having problems like SOMETHING isnt connected, so we have to mess with it to get buttons to work(they either all work or dont work) so I wanted to get another soft pad for two soft pads, and for solo Ill have a better one atleast..whats a good place to buy a pad? I was checking online at ebay and sites, but shipping is always so much..Ive got an EB somewhere around here..walmart..bestbuy..not sure about fry's or anything else..any suggestions? |

Well I found a decent pad at bestbuy(I posted above) for 20 bucks, pretty satisfied..besides it being made "specially made" for britney's dance beat..cause you know up down left right circle square X and triangle are used for that game only..anyways, the pads pretty good, Im probably going to go back and get another since the other soft pad Im borrowing is going to hell =/ Id really like some input of how Im planning to mod it and on a few questions I have:
Ill be putting each soft pad on a large piece of wood like normal, Im thinking velcro for easy storage/transportation if I want to take just the pad somewhere(Put maybe 4 extremely sticky pieces of velcros about 1-2 in. diagonally in from each corner? or should I get more?)
I was thinking of putting rubber stoppers on the bottom of the wood for my friend's hardwood and tiles, we've been playing at their houses a lot since of the extreme late times (12-2am lol) would they be effective? and if so, would it screw me over on carpet?
And also, if anyone has a better suggestion so the wood wont scratch surfaces but wont slide on anything, that'd be cool |

Has anyone figured out how to get Ignitions from slipping around? I've tried using one of those sticky, rubber floor mat things, but it still moves and bunches up the mat. |

Hey, uh, well my poopy DPR2 pad bunches up like a mofo (and I don't have the time/patience/storage space to mod it) so I am planning on going down to frys to get a MyMyBox DX 2.0/2.5 soon, anyone know whether they are good or not? |

What are the offical konami soft pads like? I had 2 of the cypher games soft pads with the nonslip top and bottom. One of them died and instead of buying another one off ebay i figured i would get max2 bundle with the pad. The only thing i want to know before i buy the bundle is what the Konami pad is like, does it have a non-slip top and bottom, does it have lights that show the buttons register, and are they good quality.
If anyone needs a soft pad mod let me know i have one that fell off of the thread list. _________________

Has anyone else tried what I have...
Note: this only works with the flat soft pads, not the ones with the foam..
What i did was trace the block around the arrow onto a piece of paper, i then cut it out and traced it onto a cardboard box. I then cut out the cardboard. Now with the soft pad taped to the wood on the top of the pad only, lift up the pad a place the cardboard cutout directly under the arrow. You then tape the carboard with as much tape as possible, you really have to go overboard with it. You then put the pad down and tape up all four side as you normally would. It makes a really good effect and you can really tell where the arrows are |

ok i need some opinions on this after reading through this forum, i need to decide what i'm gonna get.
1. I get a BNS DX and do a chairmat mod and put it on some plywood.
2. get the konami pad COMING OUT ON TUESDAY WITH DDRMAX!!!! and then i put that on some plywood and cover it with some hardwood floor covering.
3. get the konami pad that's comin out and do a sandwhich mod
I'd be GREAT if n e one could help me out after two weeks i still can't decide what to do. if only i had the moneys for a cf i wouldn't have this predicymenty. |

There's a new Konami dance pad coming out!? Where did you hear this?! Does anybody have any details on it? Oh, and for your question, I think the first one would be the best mainly because I don't anything about the new konamia pad. A BNS Ignition with a chair mat mod and taped down to a piece of plywood would be very good. |

This is coming from someone who never has modded a pad in his life, and not only that, can't, because he needs to store it in his tiny dorm room.
The Konami pads are a gift from god to me. They don't slip at all on my floor, they don't miss any steps that I can see, and they are comfortable as hell to play on, even with socks.
Of course, I'm used to the regular 19 dollar pads other companies seem to taint the store shelves with. The Konami Pad is great!
But if you are doing anything really hard, well, I'm not to that point yet, but I imagine that I might want to invest in a *gasp* metal pad... |

I thought i wanted a metal pad until i felt the awesomeness below my feet that is the new konami pad. I was so used to the Naki pad (sliding around, bunching up, etc.) that i had a certain way of playing on my toes so i wouldn't slide or fall. With the konami pad i feel like it's rock solid (in as much as a soft pad on carpet can be). It hardly moves and sits very flat on the ground, no more crunching noise either. Responsiveness is about the same, but i feel safer playing with flat feet, and moving around using all my weight. Weight transfer seemed like a big issue on the Naki, where i had to hold back for my own personal safety.
So, in closing, now i just want more konami pads so when i ruin this one, i have backups to last for years. I like playing in socks... |

I just said that it is better because people have said it was a great mod, and I don't live in a dorm. I'm 14. How many feet can you play in DDR? Have you played on an ignition 2.0? If you have, would you say that the new konami one is better? |

Have you seen the bottom of the knoami pads? It's hella sic. Theres this wierf texture on it. Does anyone noe how these things compare to Ignitions?
BTW, they sell foam on konami's website that appaerntly is velcroed onto the soft pads.It looks like the same poopy in the Duluxe Konami ones? _________________

IMHO, it would be cool to start a new thread as a continuation of this one, because of people like us who need a new pad or are looking to buy our first/starter pad, and/or for newcomers that haven't followed this thread, having 31 pages of text to wade through is just mind-boggling.
Basically, I'm just looking for the best pad to get that they sell at Frys Unless there's actually someone reliable to buy online that sell better ones. Maybe someone could do a 'synopsis' post of like the top 10 pads or something for those of us who haven't been participating in the discussion before now.
Actually, I did make an attempt to try and read through the thread, but there were so many pad names and dealers being thrown around, I got lost rather quickly. |

ok, I already posted in this thread a few months ago, but nobody answered my question, so here it goes again:
I have a cypher games deluxe ignition pad v2.0. The right arrow sticks... as in it will stay pressed after I've already taken my foot off of it. However, it only happens with the foam insert in, but it works fine without it. Any ideas on what the problem with the foam is, or how to fix it? _________________
