I remember playing the old a$$ DDR versions. He didn't have any of this 1x, 2x, 5x, BS- there was no Groove Meter, and if you think you're gonna get somewhat trippy, though still cool FMV sequences for the background, you're kidding yourself.

Let's not forget about Basic, Trick and Maniac- you couldn't just tap "down, down" on the pad, OH NO. You had to put in some long-a$$ code on the pad like "up, down, up, down, left, right...etc.." And if you didn't know the code to cancel out whatever you entered before, you were stuck playing that song with the mods you entered.

And the songs, alothough very good- there just weren't enough of them. Screw this Max 2 and Extreme 200-300 song list crap. In the old DDR's, you had about 8-12 songs, if you were lucky.

And don't forget the framerate of the original arrows- you had to guess when the lines would match up.

So, whenever you feel like complaining about how much the newest Max or Ex sucks cause it doesn't have Oni/Challenge mode or whatever, close your mouth, you spoiled brat- you don't know how good you've got it.

Uh, uh- that's not what I mean. I'm just saying that "back in the day" riiight.gif although it was still fun, DDR'ers didn't have the luxuries that a lot of others did in 5th mix and the Max series- so if someone NEEDS to complain about how X- version sucks so much cause it's missing X-feature, they really should shut their mouths, cause it could be worse.

Yes, we newbies are quite spoiled E1.gif I couldn't agree with you more. Man, I have a tough time playing on those older versions.

Indeed. These shmucks have it easy.

Remember trying to learn things like Ninzaburo, orion.78 (AM-euro), and Romancu no Kami-Sama without speed mods and/or solo? And if you even thought about using a mod back then, it made you seem awesome, because they only made the song harder.

Man, some of you don't know how good you have it! laugh.gif

Why does everyone think mods are there solely to make a song easier? Don't forget there are mods like FLAT and X3,X4,and X5.

And yes,we may have it easier, but not all of us can be considered newbies just because we didn't grow up on Korean or 5th Mix. And the"Tap down down" thing..its called CONVENIENCE. I've gotten a few chances to play on older machines, and I see no difference so long as you know the right codes to change difficulty. Different backgrounds? So? And guess what..the arrows are still there.

Anything more to say about our new "a$$" machines or attitudes?

Yes, I just remembered the pranksters that would often come in and dump about 38 mods on you right before you picked your song, and on the older mixes, you couldn't just hold the start button to conveniently access a menu and remove everything. Instead, you were stuck with whatever mods were crapped on you.

And about your attitude, you're sounding a little miffed. Get yourself a Pepsi and relax or something.

It's not like people who played 1-4 mixes can't play 5-8 mixes. Everythings starts out of decent quality and improves, just like the mixes. They are not worse or better they are just DDR 1.0, not we are at DDR 8.Xtreme and it will just continue to get better. In the future we will complain about how we used to have to hit down down to get to a mod. Now adays we can just mentally choose our mods and songs.

Excuse me, I started playing "Back in the Day" and I remember well what it was like haveing to get an A on a 3 footer just to play Paranoia...I'm sure you don't complain about your computer, I dare you to kill your little Dell XPS and buy a windows 3.1 because you are Spoiled with your computer. And lets do more, your greatgranparents had to go without plumbing, you couldn't....does that make you spoiled? No, It just means you like to complain for no reason. You take mouth exlax and just spew random things out. Ex.:

Butter is the celieng, grandmother pink!

Exactly. Besides it was annoying on mixes like USA to HAVE to play Heavy/Maniac when the other person wanted to, cause you couldn't change your difficulty separately.

Jeez, wrong dumbass, forums are for what... yes, voicing opinions! That's my opinion, you don't like it, tough poopy.

Secondly, you really shouldn't try to make jokes that (1) aren't funny, and (2), you know nothing about. I'm not gonna sit here and defend myself against your little computer jokes- besides, maybe you need to sell yours more than I do- you can get some food for your family at the 99 cent store, you know, the same place where you got those tired-a$$ jokes.

And that's my opinion. E4.gif

Huh, it seems like you guys think I hate the new mixes. riiight.gif Hehe, naw, I LOVE the new mixes, especially Extreme, I LOVE being able to hold the button and have a mod menu pop-up- it is really convenient, I also love being able to choose separate difficulty than the other player, cause that sucked in USA.

frust.gif What I DON'T like is when people complain about the NEW ones because they're missing a certain feature like Oni Mode, or a certain song, etc.. biggrin.gif I'm defending the new ones here! (Besides, I think I was PMS'ing when I wrote this too, I was tired of listening to people b!tch.)

Oh yeah, I also don't like Son of Sam, she annoys me. disgust.gif

The Legend of MAX increases in pace to a blazing 333 BPM, currently the fastest song in DDR. There are 555 steps

LOM has 500 steps, thanks.

badtz2u

The only ddr mix that had 8-12 songs was 1st mix. 4th plus has what, 160+? I count that as an old mix. The only one that required a code for heavy was 1st mix, unless you count SSR, but if you have a problem with that code you're a moron. Stop trying to sound like some cool vet and get over yourself. I think the old backgrounds were much more "trippy" than the new ones. You don't usually see flying burgers and robots breakdancing very often do you? You are not better than anyone because you've been playing longer. Nobody cares about how long you've been playing or what mix you started on. So please, don't try to act like you "put in your time" or any bullcrap like that. You just found it earlier. So in fact YOU are lucky, because you found DDR before some of us did, so you've been able to enjoy it longer. So stop complaining you spoiled brat.

I think alot of you are missing the point that he was trying to make. He's not saying that the new mixes suck or that he hates the new mods or thinggs they changed. What he is saying is the he hates people who bi+ch and moan about nit-picky things. Sure it may be better, but how many things are worth forming a petition to get X little unimportant feature in Y mix. For those who care, the mix that I started on and had a good deal of my DDR experience on was DDR USA arcade mix. I for one am glad for certain features such as better framerate (blew me away first time i played on it), massive songlists, easy modifier entry and so on. I'm not afraid to use speed mods, nor do I scorn those that do. But just to reiterate, all he is basicly saying is that he hates people who try to raise an alarm over little, largely unimportant flaws.

Moral of the story:
Just don't get your panties in a bunch.

I think hes trying to say that "back in the day" it was pretty hard to actualy do good, i tried first mix it was so hard to get the notes right, its like if ur a second off ur screwed. But i also do think noobies think their all that do to the fact that they think your weird that ur a vitrin and can bust all the things that you can do but when they go on and fuk off they say itleast i have a life unlike you..its just dissrespectfull

I've been playing for bout 4 years or so, it isnt that much but its a long time to most people. I picked up a lot of things, but i never dissed the ppl who were better then me, i must have spent like over 1000$ in aracades and stuff just to get where i am.

When you look at other things everyone gets more spoiled, look at life for example, we never had the luxuries when we were lil, no comps and stuff but now look at these kids wearing their baggy clotehs wit their bling blings and acting all cocky. Its just how it is and it will keep getting worst.

Does poetry have to rhyme....no! Jokes don't have to be funny. I was being sarcastic, but I wouldn't expect a 12 year old POSER to know that.

And as for 99 cent stores, so what if I shop at them, for all you know I spend all my money on a university, and aren't some person that can fall back on my parents for money. I assure you there are many people who shop at 99 cent stores.
