V [a] 5 key what?
you can only play it on 7 or 14 key..unless the simulator allows 5 key [a] play.
wow .59 [a] is really easy compared to alot of other 6 star [a]..easy meaning passable for me...heh... _________________

ARGH! Who knew so many IIDX players were in the vicinity of Westland, MI? I went there to play the new 8th Style (by the way, it's kinda screwed up: the screen is all bouncy, and the videos won't play ), and I had to wait freaking 45 minutes to play once. And that was it. That's all I got to play the freaking thing because they started some weird way of deciding who plays. RARGH oh yeah, I think I suck now because I failed Y31 (the second 7* I cleared). Maybe having the difficulty on 6th Style on 1 isn't such a good idea after all...
Now I'm probably gonna wait another month to go back to AFC because then not as many people will be playing. Using that time, I can sharpen my IIDX skillz more! _________________

hi, I got 6th Style two weeks ago. I've passed all the L7's finally (freakin' Safari, arrgh!), and on 7-Key I've passed all the 5's and below, most of the 6's (I think I have five or six left there), and four 7's (Flowtation, Route 80's, Absolute, and Presto... but Presto was on Random, blaaahhh). A lot of stuff is still destroying me, so it makes me wonder...
You see, I went into IIDX with a little bit of 5-Key experience. Not THAT much mind you, I'd play it at a relatively out-of-the-way arcade maybe 2 or 3 times a month. I could pass some 6-stars on Hard, but nothing TOO difficult. The important thing about this though is that it accustomed me to playing with the turntable on the right side, buttons on the left (I actually tried Center mode on it once or twice and did horribly). I see that a lot of people play 1P side on IIDX... presumably because the majority of people are right-handed and are more comfortable hitting the notes with their right hand. I'm right handed too, my left hand isn't quite as proficient as hitting everything.
It makes me wonder if I should attempt to start playing on 1P side instead, but... I just can't! Just reading the notes with the turntable on the left side throws me off completely and I hit a lot of wrong keys, even on easy songs. And for some reason, scratching with my left hand just feels so.... odd. How many other right-handed people play 2P side? Over time does your left hand just eventually "learn" to handle fast streams of notes at times when you need to use your right hand to scratch multiple times? (I never would have passed Route 80's without the magic of pinky scratching.) Is there anyone that's actually equally proficient and can play either side and get comparable scores?
Just curious... _________________

okay..i feel like the IIDX retard..it's taken me nearly a month to pass all the L7 songs...and as long to start passing 7*'s..

yeah heh i just passed it normally today...7* # 3 for me...

i've been thinking of switching my controller to 2nd player style, but i am pretty sure i'll suck worse than when i actually started...
and pinky scratching is a way of life..
EDIT: thanks for the recommendation to do Presto, but I found the ending really screwed me up...I was able to pass Blueberry Stream, Absolute, and Route 80s, but not able to pass Presto... _________________

Don't feel bad at all! Everyone just progresses at different rates. I know there are people out there that have been playing over a month and still haven't passed The Safari or one of the other nasty L7 songs (G2, The Strong Jaeger...). Everyone just has different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to IIDX.

yeah I get screwed up big time on all the scales on Presto... still don't quite have the hang of those. Like I said, it's easier on Random because chances are you'll get a note pattern that just feels more comfortable to do. I am of course working on trying to pass it without the Random crutch...
Blueberry Stream kicks my ass. good job on Y31 too, I've come oh-so-close to passing it several times, but I always get tripped up by that weirdness near the end... the rest of the song is a breeze. Oh well, off to Training mode I guess _________________

Grr... being stuck playing on keyboard sims sucks. After being away from any arcade IIDX all summer, when I came back to the arcade, I couldn't even pass Brightness Darkness [A] because I kept missing the keys during all those double-presses at the end. I just hit in totally the wrong place every time. And I kept using the wrong fingers for drumrolls and screwing them up, too.
*sigh* At least I almost passed Regulus. ...almost. _________________

I have yet to use any mods except hi-speeds...random is supposed to make it easier sometimes I guess? Most of the Tatsujin Videos those 2 use random...I'll get it eventually...Training mode would probably help the most in this case...I used it mainly to help me get by The Safari L7.
And usually I do better with scales than double presses. But the speed and notes for Presto are so weird for me that hi-speed 2 makes the notes too close and hi-speed 3 makes it faster than I can normally respond. *shrugs*
Cheer Up Rancid! Over the summer I was cut off from everything, and it felt like I had to reteach myself DDR and stuff..besides..Almost passing Regulus [a] is better than me having at best 22% through the whole song..and that's at the beginning... _________________

DJ King- The Big Voyager [a] and Something Wonderful [a] are almost the same, if not easier, than their 7 key counterparts.
I got an A on e-motion 7 keys
But you only use keys 1-5 on the song.

Wow I just got through playing some more 6th Style, after I changed the difficulty to 3 (I'm assuming that's the diffculty that the 8th Style machine at AFC is on), and I DON'T SUCK! At first I tried an easy song (19, November) and A'ed it. So then I did Bluberry Stream, cam very close to A'ing that too. Then I moved on to Nemesis, the most recent flashing 7* I cleared. I ended with a 74%, but half the time on difficulty 1 I failed it anyway. After that I move on to V, and I ended with a 90% and a C. Maybe I was more used to the Konami Official Controller when I went to play 8th Style. It felt kinda weird playing it anyway. _________________

OMFG, i can't even come close to passing Blueberry Stream 7K, i do absolute and route 80s as my warmup now, but i can't touch blueberry stream, yet i can pass B4U, Presto, and a lot of other 6 and 7s. I almost passed Sync. Night of Fire still gives me probs. |

That is weird...I was finally able to pass Presto (82% ) and I tried Blueberry Stream again to see if it was a fluke, and I passed with a little better D...B4U though...the turn tables are killing me..and Night of Fire...don't get me started on that...it took me forever to pass it consistantly on L7 in order to get the unlock...grr..
And The Strong Jaeger...I pulled a B out of nowhere on it for 7K...I was shocked..
QDX's recommend for doing Something Wonderful [a] turned out good..while the other song was horrible _________________

well isn't this odd, I thought Blueberry Stream was tough but last night I managed to pass it on the third attempt. awesome. also finally got through the end of Y31 with enough bar to pass.
And then after not playing The Strong Jaeger for a couple days (I failed it with 76% a few days ago), I managed to pass it on the first attempt of the night.... but with a very dismal D. after I'd failed it with a C numerous times.... blah. My timing wasn't completely off though, I managed to AA a few more songs on L7... up to about 21 AA's there, nothing special compared to the people AAA'ing 7-star songs but I'm happy with any score increases...
P.S. I can't pass Night of Fire either. ;( I see the pattern, I just can't do it. I should probably whore it in Training Mode tonight until I get it down. I was close to passing Love is Dreaminess last night too, but lost it in the craziness at the end... _________________

The topic is "Don't post anything here"? WTF?
Anyway... NYAH (KING haphazard mix) wrote: | Cheer Up Rancid! Anyway, I know what you mean about having to reteach yourself DDR, but for me that's mostly a stamina issue. I didn't play DDR for a long time at one point, and when I came back I was just about as good as I was before, but I went from almost FCing PARANOiA Ssurvivor to being unable to pass it, just on stamina. DigitaLstorM~7KeysMode~ wrote: | Maybe I was more used to the Konami Official Controller when I went to play 8th Style. When I first played arcade IIDX, I did a lot better than I had been doing on home versions, because the smaller, closer-together keys made it easier to hit "chords" and such.
However, I don't pinky-scratch and play a lot of stuff one-handed, so it's probably more important for me to be able to reach all the keys with one hand than for most players. _________________
