Let me start by saying that I think that the DDRFreak community is a strong one. It has grown from a few interlocking strands of kindred spirits sharing a common interest to a thousand fold web of friendship, communication, and sportsmanship.
I feel it is our duty as much as anyone's, as members of the DDRFreak community, to stand tall and pledge our support to the embetterment of the, nay, our DDRFreak. It is with this in mind that I would like to make the following suggestion:
Can the FAQ have its title changed to the FAH-Q.
FAH-Q stands for...you guessed it! Frequently asked helping-questions. |

If you say that out loud it sounds more like "FUQ" or "fuck you"
I'd hate to have a couple newbies take that the wrong way =D _________________

Well that would be the best name for a FAQ section I have heard yet.

Thanks.
I take back what I said about hating your family. And what I said about your mom.
Well, I have to stand by that last part. |

Oh I know I realize that it's just people trying to give us another example that we can use for why boards like New York were locked _________________

I would like to take this opportunity to quickly point out the subtle differences between this topic and my understanding of why New York is closed.
It is imperative to maintain a sense of community on a message board. Thus, no flaming, post whoring, etc., etc. Rather than say something cruel or hurtful to someone else, I decided to use my sense of comedy to help lighten the day of any individuals who give me the chance. I am not looking to attack anyone, which seemed to be a prominent theme in recent New York posts. I do not post random topics on a regular basis, and when I do, they are in appropriate forums targeting appropriate audiences appropriately.
Furthermore, one can look at my post and find some seriousness to it. I am all for community participation. I understand that there are administrators and moderators, and it is up to them to determine the course of this site, but it is nonetheless just as important for everyone to feel just as much a part of this site as they possibly can, and one of the best resources for accomplishing that is in the actual development of the site as the future unfolds.
Sure, one can always say, "We run the site, not you!" and they'd be absolutely correct. But what happened when Britain said that to America year after year? America made it's own country. I don't mean to literally suggest that anyone who is remotely unsastisfied should get huffy and puffy and make their own site (we'd end up with a unique site for each member); I'm just making a point. I'm not running up and down the forums yelling "REVOLUTION! REVOLUTION!" looking to start trouble. I'm trying to express ways of giving harmless but meaningful opinions. Albeit, this one might be *arguably* less serious than most, it's a way of me putting my proverbial toe in the water, showing everyone that the temperature's alright and they should come on in.
And besides, how cool would it be to actually have an FAQ called the FAH-Q! |

...uhh...am I the only one that see's that spelling of FAQ as being almost remotely the same sounding as "fag"? That might annoy a few people and I'm not sure if that's the best thing to do. _________________

"check" is a letter off from "chick," which may be offending to women. That in turn is a letter off from "chink" which may offend Asians (like me).
Ummm, no. I have a feeling that the FAQ is going to remain the FAQ. _________________

This wasn't a gay joke. It was an f-bomb joke. However, you'd be surprised at how many people miss it. When I was working at Blockbuster, there was a time when I made a nametag for myself saying "Fah-Q." People would look at it, pause, then take a stab at pronouncing it, saying something sounding like "Fahk." I would correct them, saying it's Arabic, and pronounce "Fah Kyoo." |
