The official "NY is locked" thread.

::sigh:: and i just started posting again.

Okay, this is why I left the boards in the first place. Countless topics about inane drivel covered every single page. I can see why the moderators locked what they did. People complain about getting points, but if you are doing something against the rules then you get points. When you registered on the forums and clicked that button that said "Yes, I agree to the terms" you knew that, so why complain about it now?
Don(phrek) is just doing his job. Does he really need to explain to you EVERY SINGLE TIME as to WHY something was locked? You can say you make dumb topics for spite, but how mature does that make you?
People say how a lot of this rides on the people upstate, and yeah some dumb threads were created by NYC people, but some of the upstate posters do a lot of crap. First off, upstate posters are the ones complaining most here, but most of it is YOUR fault. Always trying to be spiteful...think I'm wrong? Take a good look at your banners spoofing DDPD, you think that's all in fun? Maybe for you...and yeah DDPD has left you alone about it, but crap like that is REALLY annoying. Just like the crap you post on the forums, whining and complaining, blah blah blah we need a new mod. NO. You DON'T need a new mod. "Oh it's gonna be great to have our friend as a mod so all our posts stay open and we don't get points!" Yeah, act like it won't be that way...pfft.
Take a good look at the site....take a good look at who runs this site. Yeah that's right, it's not you, so don't complain about how the owner of the site wants to run it. Yeah, it sucks the forum is locked, but the mods shouldn't have to waste their time banning countless people that do not know how to behave, because then you'll just make new usernames and wreak even more havoc just to show your resentment.
It's SO pathetic that a whole state forum had to be locked because people just can't act their age. It's embarrassing. After all this, you STILL wont get it. You'll still complain and moan, but you'll never get your way. If you don't like the mods or the fact that you can't do everything your spoiled ass pleases, then LEAVE. Plain and simple. Don't post on the forums. God, GROW UP.

Seriously do you expect all of this typing effort speeches to change every members mind? HELL NO! The pissed off ones will still remain and the sad part is that you're not doing a great efficent job compromising with the ones that are trying to explaining their best on why things should change with the moderating situation. Indeed it will be hard to cope with. I won't be surprised if the flamage or of this nonsense immaturity continues. tsk tsk....

I have no problems with Phrek being a mod, I do however have a problem with the NY forums being locked. $10 bucks says that these mods who locked our forum have never locked their own regions' forums...

Considering that the people in question are all global moderators, all forums are our region's forums.

And don't get so upset, yours isn't the first regional forum to be temporarily locked.

The Southern California forum was locked temporarily once when it was attacked by some spammers, very similar to what happened with New York, but to a much larger degree. The forum was locked for a period of time and once things calmed down, it was reopened.

As for New York, the timeline for the forum being locked was voted on by the entire moderating team.

Someone stated that there were no posters from 2 years ago. If that were true, I wouldn't be here.

I seen the NY forum go to hell and back, and then to hell again. And yes, we did have a change of mods. We even asked for a new one, we got NYstargate. No one knew him and began to disagree with the admins decision. So once again we named some people that we thought would be good for the job, and that's when we got PerfectAsymmetry.

And yes, I seen NY merged with NJ. NJ liked the merge since they only had to deal with NY posters but NY hated it. I personally gave up posting in that time period because it was damn near impossible to find a NY related thread and creating one would just get bumped into the 2nd page quickly. You don't want that, trust me.

Now, we come to this. I personally find it funny that you guys managed to get the forum locked. But you have to consider the possible punishment that will follow, which scares me. I am a mod of two other boards and I would agree with Phrek's moderation. Yeah maybe it seemed harsh, but it was justified. If you don't think so, start researching and get some facts together, the mods here are still listening. Which I do have to mention something:

A few posts ago there is talk about deleted topics/posts and whatnot. To my uderstanding it technically is not deleted, just moved. This is much like how we manage files on our computer; you select something to delete and windows will ask you to move it into the recycle bin. But here you have to have priveleges to retrieve it. If I was to try and attain evidence and my much needed support is in the recycling bin, how am I suppose to continue? I see the case as "too bad, you lose".

OmniTarget's right on the money. Threads are never deleted, they're just moved elsewhere.

The only threads that were moved out of New York were the ones from yesterday's annoyance. The people who have been complaining about Phrekwenci's moderation need to find a better excuse and some support to back it up with.
