So, i was just wondering what the difficulty level of it was, is there any type of learning curve, would it be easy for someone to just start with no knowledge of playing piano? Because, i am currently in the process of selling my IIDX controller. What can i say, the game just wasn't for me. But, i would like to know if keyboardmania is harder than Beatmania IIDX. If it is harder than i doubt i will get it and i will try drummania. So, if someone could just fill me i would be greatful. |
IMO, KBM isn't that hard like other bemani games it takes alot of time to get better at it. _________________

Actually, both versions of Pink Rose are the same, but I agree. I think it's just all the stepping that turns me off the DDR one. But anyway...
What model midi keyboard is it? I heard talk that it works with Yamaha keyboards with USB, but I don't think others will work. I'm not too fond of the original Konami Keyboards myself, but I use two of them when I practice doubles as there really isn't one huge keyboard at the arcades that I can get used to.
Okay I got a topic. What song would you like to see on KBM? Suppose they make another one (fingers crossed ^^). I'd like to see:
From IIDX:
V (...well, actually, Winter. The piano arrangement is better. And some Taka, and you're set)
A (Once again, a piano arrangement/version would be better)
Final Countdown (4th Style)
Rislim (I think that's the one. The one with the piano throught the song)
Abyss (5th Style)
Tomorrow Perfume (Actually, this might get repetitive...)
From DDR:
...ummm....
Kakumei (How fun would this be ><)
I'm In The Mood For Dancing (DDRMAX)
From GF/DM:
Right On Time ~Instrumental~ (This would've made a good session...)
My Sweet Darlin' (The long version, preferable)
Day Dream (There's a part in there that sounds keyboardish)
Waza (Not exactly a piano part in there, but I like the song ^^)
Classic Party 2 (Not 3, though 3 was fun too...)
Primal Soul (Not the TH long version)
From PnM:
Night Out (That other Kiyommy + Seiya song)
777 (I liked it for DM also. Very fun)
Galaxy Forest (If this was in KBM, it'd be really cool...)
From DMX:
I Will Follow Him (I don't know. Just sounded KBM compatible lol)
Misc:
The Least 333 Seconds (This would be a GREAT KBM song...)
Can't think of anymore off the top of my head... _________________

I was actually getting ready to ask people the same thing. Anyway, aside from V and A, which I totally agree on, here's my list.
Burning Heat! - very appropriate considering the IIDX video shows the guy playing on a keyboard
Sync - it could work I think.
Destiny Lovers - doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to add a keyboard to this.
Classic Party Triathlon - Just sounds like so much fun.
Dragon Dance revision 2(by World Sequence;pop'n 7) - awesome song
White Lovers
Cheer Train
That's about it for now. |

Free mode is nothing more than a different way of saying Practice Mode. It allows you have access to all available songs without having to wait until the Final stage (i.e. Least 100 secs can be played as the first song). The hardest mode in the game is technically Another Mode, but otherwise Real Mode is the toughest and most challening. There's quite a jump in difficulty for all songs.
Going to more songs which could be in KBM:
Candy(non-vocal version)- does this not sound like the perfect session song?
Dreams in the Night-it'd be a long version, but you can't go wrong with this song
Stay Away (GF5/DM4)- this could work as another session song
Xenon- Maybe...
Stars (pop'n music)-yes please |

Any word on unlocks for KBM II for PS2? I've been able to unlock one of the hidden pressure course, and none of the hidden songs. Well, maybe one song... if song number 51 is hidden. Can anyone help with this? _________________

Candy*...I never really thought of this one, but now that I think about it, it's a good KBM song. Nice choice.
The Pink Rose in DDR is shorter...by a hair. They cut off maybe 3-5 seconds off the end, which really shouldn't even be considered. The piano/keyboard part is merged with the normal instruments in the DDR version because, really, it doesn't mean much if it's heard to a DDR player.
As for the secrets. I'll try to figure out how to truly obtain Fur Elise and March of the Wooden Soldiers as there hasn't been any real justified way of obtaining them. As for the other 4. They aren't much of a big deal as they're '3rd Mix' versions of 4 2nd Mix songs. The songs are:
Ride on The Light
Memories
Vitalize
Sabre Dance
There's little or subtle difference between the original and '3rd Mix' versions. But if you're all about unlocking, just play the respective song 3 times consecutively. The song 3 times, and the next time you play, it should appear in it's 3rd Mix version on your 2nd Stage. Therefore, these songs cannot be obtained through Free Mode. _________________

I've gotten most of the unlocks, but I'm not sure if I have them all. Is there any word about an upcoming KBM for PS2? _________________

There was a rumor a long time ago about a 4th Mix, but I think because maintaining a machine is a lot of money, I think they 'postponed' it for a long time. My idea for a new KBM would be that it should really just be a one-player game, with the complete keyboard instead of splitting it, causing some headache for people who want to play doubles. Nobody here really played the game two player anyway. _________________

I have not yet had a chance to play this game because I've only seen it once in Clemson. But I have seen DF2K play and he is Friggin insane at this game. _________________

Augh. On my attempt to figure out the unlocking process, I made it through half of Carezza Another before dropping down to failing. Needless to say I didn't pass it, but that's progress... _________________

To get Fur Elise, get an A on your first song. For the march, get an A on your second song. (A or higher)
Once you beat (maybe just play?) them, you will always have them avaliable in free mode.
As far as the wheel thingy, if you have a 61 key keyboard (5 octaves + high C... this is the minimum required for doubles on one keyboard), then you will also have extra keys avaliable for the wheel (doubles only uses 4 octaves) and start and select and stuff. _________________
