Got to play on the new RO metal pad today. It was actually pretty good. The arrows do give a little when you step on them, but it's not bad enough to make it fragile. (I was playing 8-10 footers on it and the pad held up well.) The down arrow got stuck after a bit of use, so we opened 'er up and found- two metal pieces making contact for the sensor! :O Seems to be a popular method these days. (To be fair, the upper piece seemed more like aluminum foil than metal, but it wasn't torn or anything...) Anyway, it was stuck 'cause of metal buildup on the lower metal plate, a little cleaning and it worked fine. Stuck my friend on Standard Endless and he lasted a half hour before he got bored, no glitches from the pad. In retrospect, I kinda wish I had gotten pictures, but oh well. Any questions, PM or reply. Hope I helped ^^

So, I've given up on my home pad and am going to get a Cobalt Flux. My question is, How reliable are they for shipping across the border up here to Canada?

If you REALLY can't swing it, I recommend Red Octane. If you want a pad that'll last forever, save up the extra $100. The Cobalt Flux will outlive YOU. XD Definitely worth it, even if it is a LOT of cash.

i just got my RedOctane metal pad on tuesday and i must say that it's aweseome. the arrows are extremely responsive and the only problem i had was a wire in the control box needed to be reattatched. it seems to me like it will hold up for a long time but then again i'm only a light/standard player. i strongly reccomend it though cause it kicks @ss!!! Hey, does anyone know how the wiring for the MyMyBox pads works? The positive recently came lose on one of my arrows and I have no idea where to put it as it was originally under the contact board and not soldered to the actually arrow itself. If no one knows, I'll just solder it to the arrow, but any input would be helpful.

Alright, I have the money for 2 CF's and the doubles kit. I only have one last question regarding the CFs. The best part about the arcade is that you can feel if you hit an arrow right. You know if you missed a step. My question is can you feel where you are on the CFs? What I mean is If I'm playing Rythm And Police on heavy, will I be able to hit the full streams without missing an arrow because my body got turned a little different. The thing I hated most about the soft pads is that you start out ok, but you end up turning 30 degrees on the pad making you miss just about everything. Thanks

Yeahm if you are skilled enough, then you will be able to tell where they are always. There are little notchs at the ends of each arrow, seperating it from other arrows/middle piece. You will be able to feel those.. heh.. iguess.. I dunno.. But when I played on my friend's CF, I never had a problem with it.
