I'd have to say heavy...usually people that are walking by think that freestyle players are just showing off....and they're on like light. Heavy players actually have some skill behind their dancing.....nobody take it personally....just my opinon...

Crowds don't really know what your doing so I think heavy and FS players can entertain anybody whos watching.

For the most part, people who play on Heavy ARE going to get more crowds. Still, I think it takes more skill to actually "dance" on the game, rather than just step on the arrows. It doesn't really take that much skill to play Heavy songs. Just a sense of balance and stamina.

If someone's freestyling on Heavy, then thats talent. Even regular on heavy is hard to do...(not for me lol)...but doing light or standard freestyle really isnt that hard blink.gif

I think a really good freestyler will entertain a DDR playing crowd better. But someone playing Max300 or LoM on heavy will probably entertain the crowd of non DDR playing people better. That's just what I've learned from experience. Either player could be really entertaining for anyone. It just depends on how good they are at doing it.

well..from my point of view...if your in front of non ddr-ers...just passerbyers..then f/s-ing definaly gets the job done but if you got a bunch of ddr players then you either really gotta pull someting amazing while f/s-ing or do a hard heavy song. me..i can do both so i mix it up a little..i'm pull a littlle rythme and police f/s..then some drop out on heavy.

When an average person sees DDR for the first time, and it's a person FSing, they laugh at them (because FSing usually always looks stupid). People seem to be more entertained by heavy players.

i figure it'd be the other way around. when you see someone PAing a difficult song, most of the other PAers will watch to count greats and observe techniques and whatnot, whereas a flashy FS "dance" may attract people who have no idea what this game is. some random people are drawn in by watching people PA heavy songs, and almost no one FSs ever anymore, so PAers will prolly end up drawing more people. but either way, its not really that important IMO, but this is what i have observed.

Heavy would be the real entertainment for the crowd since fs'ing can sometimes make people wonder "What the hell is this idiot doing?"

most people who see DDR for the first time would definately be amazed at how the heavy players dance so good. besides fs'ing is definately a no no if you want to entertain the crowd, unless they're DDR Freaks as well hehe

I think Heavy can impress everyone cause you got the skill. beerchug.gif

Sometimes its hard to freestyle depending on whos watching for example
They can laugh at you cause you look silly riiight.gif and other people might think youre cool E1.gif while others say hes the best E4.gif or what a loser. disgust.gif

So me.......... Heavy all the way or higher (HEAVY2?)

Just for the shear lack of freestylers anymore I'd say a free styler would draw a bigger crowd.

Both kind of players attract me, yeah if they are good at PA and get SDG it really impresses others while FS is more to show off and put up a show for a crowd. That's how I see it. E15.gif

Occasionally, I do this. Like, I tried FSln So deep. It was fun. And MJ. More fun.

The fact that you are on Light and freestyling doesn't matter in getting a crowd, it's the shear fact that you, the DDRfreak, are actually on this ridiculous looking game.

People are attracted to new things, such as you people breaking a sweat on Max300 heavy or freestyling Spin the Disc.

It really isn't you most of the time, it's the game.

I think doing well on Heavy will attract crowds more then FS. Like mentioned before Freestylers look dumb (no offense) to people walking by and will more or less get laughed at. While people doing Heavy will get people looking at them and saying, "whoa....how's he doing that...thats amazing". Of course this is from expierience at my local arcade. riiight.gif

When I play, I notice more people stop to watch me if i am freestyling. When I am playing heavy they just kinda give me a weird glance and walk on. I know this cuz my friend tells me how the people react to me. Also, you get different types of reactions from people when you are freestyling. This one guy started laughing cuz he thought it was the coolest thing ever when me and my friend did a leap-frog-pad-switch on The Whistle Song. Also, since freestyling is more like dancing people are more familiar with what you are doing.
