Hey everyone! I was wondering what the best modding idea would be for a home softpad....the one on the ddrfreak tips and guides section was pretty good...but are there any better that are cheaper??? I sorta dont want to go down to the atm and use my debit card E13.gif

I have my own personal mod, it is not cheaper but it increases the sensitivity of the pad not just stopping it from moving. Its here http://ddrsc.tripod.com/index.html BTW u might be able to skip the lenolium i use it just because of the improved feeling. Taping the foam down is what increases the sensitivity.

...well i have no experience with the official Konami pads, however i would GUESS that most all soft pads are the same. Under that ASSUMPTION I would think that it would work, however if it does not do not blame me. Once max2 come out i plan on buying the bundle set with the official konami pad included, my other pad the electronics died on, once i get it and get a look inside i can let you know for sure if this will work on it.

I dont have MSN i have AIM however u can private message me on this site if u need. Anyways the pictures alone are not the instructions on the top of the site is a link to a TXT document it has the instructions for the moding. To view it will u will need to right click it then download it then open it in notepad so that it word-wraps. In addition to that i also posted this mod on these forums a while back it has the instructions in the post here http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=72543 see if u understand now. (psst... tell the adminstrators that that post should be stickied so people like u can find it)

Okay...I am just probably gonna try it on my frends old konamix's mad catz pad...after he gets ultramix with me, he wont use it anymore...I can try your modding on that....Wish me luck...BTW, what will it cost WITH the linoleum and stuff? oops....I DONT get the linoleum part! How do the sensors go off if the linoleum is over top???? I dont get that...but up till that part im good.... How can you hit the buttons when the linoleum is between the sensors and the top of the pad (with all the arrow pics on it)!!!???

The lenilloum does not go inbeteween the sensors. If u look at the pics u can see that, i will put a simple diagram here.

_________________________________ Top cover with arrows on it
_________________________________ Lenilloum
_________________________________ Sensor sheet
_________________________________ Sensor sheet with foam taped on
_________________________________ Bottom cover or non slip bottom

The lenilloum goes on top of both of the sensors so they can still touch. It is not really necessary it just cuts down on the wear on the sensor sheets and gives it a more firm feeling. I dont know if u can buy just 1 yard of lenilloum but u can buy just 1 yard of chair mat or hardwood floor covering. As far as prices go i cant tell you i had the lenollium left over from getting our floor redone. Look on the office max site for chair mats and lowes or home depot for hardwood floor covering.

the top sheet with the arrows painted on it is there just to show where it arrows are it has nothing to do with the pressing of the buttons. When the 2 layers of sensors touch that is what sends the siginal for the button press.

yes but the SENSORS ARE UNDER THE LINOLEUM, so when you are playing on top of the linelium, how do the sensors pick up your feet????

they dont pick up your feet touching them. Each button has a trace coming from the control box and goes to the area where the arrow is located where it fans out into many lines. The same thing is true for the sensor sheet below. The foam seperates these 2 layers and stops them from touching. When you steep on the arrow it pushes the sensors together through the holes foam inbeteween the sensors. Then the button is registered as being pressed.
