SM 3.9 problem-help please

I installed stepmania 3.9 recently. I put on mods for a song and the program crashed. I tried no-mods, and the game ran fine. I found that whenever I use the "solo" mod the game crashes. Has anyone experienced this problem? Does anyone know what can be done to fix this? Any advice will be appreciated.

I have the same problem with SM 3.9, but it doesn't really bother me because I rarely use Solo.

I had this problem with 3.9 alpha 3, but when I upgraded to alpha 4b I found that all appearance options and everything worked properly. If you haven't installed the latest version, I suggest trying that.

I only have Alpha 2... I didn't know there was Alpha 3 and 4..

Go to www.stepmania.com to get the latest CVS build of SM (currently Stepmania 3.9 Alpha 4b). Go to www.savageddr.com if you want an Extreme skin and announcer pack for it. Keep in mind, however, that all of the versions of Stepmania except 3.00 Final are beta releases. They may have bugs in them and certain functions (such as certain mods or note skins) may not work properly or at all. If you are not willing to deal with that, then stick to 3.00 Final.

actually, there IS a way to fix your solo arrows. The metrics file in your noteskin folder for solo is missing some of the parts of the metrics file in the default noteskin. Try copying the part from [GhostArrowDim] to the end and paste them onto the solo metrics file and there u go. This also works for any other noteskins as well IE flat and note

After playing Stepmania for about 3 hours today it crashed about 4 times. I'm using 3.9 alpha 5a. Every time they release a new version they fix some bugs, yet add some more. Alpha 4b sucked because it kept on screwing up when you try to sort songs. Better than the whole program crashing though.

For as long as bugs are added by each build, there will never be a StepMania 4.0.
Anyway, they update about every 1-3 weeks on average, so check often.
