KBM was ok for the time that it existed in our arcade, we had a 2nd Mix, it was fun for a while, it soon became a Beatmania IIDX minus, it was too easy, and the timing was horrible, you can easily get a SS Perfect w/ minimal effort. Now our arcade replaced it for a BM Complete Mix 2, which is ok, but not as fun as IIDX, not even 1 bit.

BTW, i like Mighty Guy, Ma-ssa-ra, Heaven's Gate, Ride in the Light, Burnin', Presto (IIDX version is better), and Cycletron

Don't get me wrong Beatmania is an excellent game also, but it is time to talk about some Keyboardmania. The Least 100secs is a good song.

Yes I in my opinion I think it is an excellent purchase. You should also get 2nd and 3rd mix because on 1st mix there is no light mode, this is only if you are a beginner.

Wow. Another official one.

Keyboardmania is my favorite Bemani (IIDX following in second). Carezza does rock. I'm gathering a couple of people to actually play it in a recital in the fall. Let's see. Hmm.... Okay, uh...

Recent (Keyboardmania) achievements:
Akumajo Dracula Medley Real - Single - A
Depend On Me - Single Real (One handed, finally) - A
Pink Rose - Double Real - B
Pink Rose - Single Another - A (One handed! W00t!!)

You should get the keyboard bundled with 1st mix. While it's not too exciting (hey, Henry Henry rox!!), you do get a "Free Play" mode which, I think is kinda coll. You get to mess around and play stuff you wanna play, provided you know what you want to play and how ot goes.

Around here, the Keyboardmania machine is neglected as it sits right next to a GF 9th DM 8th machine and shares the arcade with a DDREX and IIDX 8th Style machine. I still play it a lot though. Can't say that I'm waiting for a 4th Mix anymore, but that doesn't mean I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes, I'm waiting for the Yamaha Edition.

I thought that was only on computer??? E19.gif

Can anybody help me get another mode on some of the songs on 3rd mix? It involves pressing the keys right?

You are a good man. Yamaha Edition is only for the PC. I'm not too sure on how to get to another, on Keyboardmania I just don't dare to.

On the PS2 version, simply press the two black keys left most on the keyboard on an Another capable song (Pink Rose, Carezza, Smoky Town, and Illegally Sane).

On the Arcade version (3rd Mix), you need to press and hold the leftmost black buttons followed by pressing any key, then press and hold the next set over of black three keys followed again by any key. If done correctly it will make a chime and will say ANOTHER. I'm pretty sure you can only do this on Real Mode (confirm?).

Here's another good site:

http://www.katakuri.x0.com/~sudden/km/menu_3rd.html

It goes down here and there, but not often. I get most of my sheet music here. It has a nice interface too.

EDIT: Well, it's down right now, so check back later...

But, hey, if you're thinking about keeping this thread alive, let's talk accomplishments...

Hey, i am really interested in getting into Keyboardmania. Tragically, there are no KM machines by my house to check it out on. So, i was just wondering what the difficulty level of it was, is there any type of learning curve, would it be easy for someone to just start with no knowledge of playing piano? Because, i am currently in the process of selling my IIDX controller. What can i say, the game just wasn't for me. But, i would like to know if keyboardmania is harder than Beatmania IIDX. If it is harder than i doubt i will get it and i will try drummania. So, if someone could just fill me i would be greatful.

*Looks at this thread*

*Looks at his Keyboardmania controller collecting dust*

I think it's time to enjoy the goodness that is Keyboardmania.

*proceeds to play Akumajo Dracula Medley*
