I'd have to say I'm currently at the #1 status. I've got most of the ten-footers under my belt, and my stamina is usually pretty good, but my PA is very unimpressive, and AA's usually come out of luck.
But I guess if I were presented with the three choices provided, I'd have to keep #1. _________________

I'm 1 and 2... 40 greats on max300 and working towards AA's on MaxX and LoM as soon as i can get back to an extreme >.< _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Oh man, #3 has gotta be the only option there.
I've always been a bit of a dancer (more in the style that I'm somebody who does dance, not necessarily someone who can dance). That plus my attention-seeking tendencies, and some very useful modifications I made to my psyche in first year of college* make FreeStyle my chosen path. (*Specifically, I burned out any sense of shame or embarrasment. Trust me, you have a lot more fun without them!)
It isn't only the attention and the crowds (although they are the best things about it). It's a difference in moods. Going for a really good FreeStyle, you feel the music, feel the beat, enjoy yourself, and constantly strive for smoother, bigger and better moves - a whole improvement thing.
Perfect Attack is the opposite. Once you've got the perfect timing worked out, it's a matter of making sure you do that for every step - so now instead of trying to make things better (FS), you're trying to avoid doing things wrong (PA). That leads to a very negative outlook - the feeling when you see a 'Good' flash up after a 200 combo (three steps from the end) makes you annoyed with what was, really, a very good performance.
Don't get me wrong. I try a little PA myself, and if someone can AAA a heavy song I admit they're far better at this than me. But my defining question in this and anything else has always been:
What's more fun?

I'll take door number two!
Geing good at PAs would allow me to do good in tourneys, and that would give me more motivation to play more, and eventually give me the stamina for 10 footers. _________________

Come on you have to choose 3!
you don't see someone shufflin their feet around and say you wanna do that! You see someguy do a kneedrop into a matrix walk and crack the screen. You say whoa that was awesome, then you realize he just broke that machine. |

Actually, I improved from the last time I talked and getting back on Singles play regularly and tryna play less Doubles I've been A'ng most Heavy Songs. I finally got my first Heavy AA - Kind Lady and my 1st Extra Stage!! I guess my A's will soon be AA's and my PA will get better. _________________

I'm kinda 1&2, I can do good as far as PA goes on songs 9ft and below but not consistantly, and I can pass most of the 10 footers but not consistently like for example, Max300 I would pass like 2or3 out of 5 times _________________

Aww, you forget the fourth choice that everyone wants to be, and some are. A person that can FC the 10 footers and everything else. Come on, tell me you've at least seen them! They exist... |

1. A player with endless stamina and who can easily pass ANY 10 foot song on singles and doubles without even thinking about it but who can't PA at all.
Hm.... I would rather be that because I Hate it when you play a song... then you get to the 2nd stage and you're all weared out and everything... then you rarely have any stamina to even go to the 3rd stage... and what about the 4th stage (if there is one) but even extra stage... it's crazy... lol and it doesn't matter if i can't PA for anything... because I still have the Great Attack haha _________________

#1 will be my option.
Initially, I'd like to choose #2. But when you stated that I'm gonna be "least entertaining to watch", I threw this away.
How I wanted endless stamina!! And to pass any 10 footers...that's quite a miracle. _________________

I'm closest to Number 2.
None of my Heavy AA's are SDGs, but I have done Mahou no Tobira, Freckles, and Happy Wedding with >30. Starting 9's. I PA better than most in my area that I've seen on the songs I do.
Oh, and 9's include So Deep, and I think that's hard/impressive enough. _________________

#2, I suppose. I only freestyle for laughs, and ten-footers suck anyways (according to my legs, which haven't been very pleased with me this week).
Anyways, some crappy stuff for you all to laugh at (some of my (close-to) SDG'ed songs): Sync Heavy (299 Perfects, 5 Greats), Sexy Planet Oni (FC, 7 Greats), Mahou no Tobira (FC, 13 Greats)... there's more, but it's seven in the morning here and I'm too tired to care. You elitists are all gonna laugh, since i've been playing for nigh on three years now, but that's alright. For the record, my only barless 10-footer is MaxX Unlimited, and I passed it with a C. *shame* _________________
Previous record on sync? FC with two greats. I won't rest or quit until I AAA it. Or pass Slam Crazy. Whichever becomes apparent first. |

Let me be the third to say #1!
I don't think PA is neat in any sense whatsoever. All I'm concerned about is building up stamina.
Plus, lately, I have been REALLY inclided to punch those in the face that throw hissy fits when they FC. and get all perfects and 5 greats.
You passed the song, be happy, shut up, and pick a new song.
there's my take on the whole PA concept...useless! |
