BemaniaDX only supports up to 200 bms so if you have more than that (and you probably do if you have the another bms') then you're going to have to decide which ones you want. Another thing you could do, though I haven't tried this, is create another BemaniaDX program. I'm pretty sure that would work just so long as each BemaniaDX is in it's own folder.

Guys bear with me as I am a noob to the forum. First off. Great site very informative and helpful. I'm building an arcade machine devoted to bemani and I have some questions.
1. If I want to use the new beatmania control. Which beatmania sim is better Rythm it or Bemani dx? Any pros or cons to either sim? Those two seem to be the most popular.
2. Any Taiko drum sims out there?
3. Any popnmusic sims out there?
4. As far as all these games go do they pretty much use the same file extensions? I know they all don't but are some interchangable?
Thanks for the help in advance and patients to my noobness |

Hey. Gonna be getting a Beatmania simulator soon. Coupla questions:
Out of opinion, what's a recommended Beatmania simulator and why?
What accessory would you need to hook up a IIDX controller to your PC?
Where can you get it?

I use Rhythm It. Or RDM for short.
My favorite thing about it is it's skinnable. You can make it look however you like, or you can download others' skins for it.
It also recognizes alot more stuff than BMDX. There are some BMSs I have that don't work in BMDX that work flawlessly in RDM.

You need an EMS PSX > USB adapter. Get it at Levelsix. _________________

Do you need a seperate program for applying new skins (other than an art program, of course...), or is it all within RDM?
My friend had some sim (I don't remember what it was) where the timing was just horrible. I figured it might be just a processing issue with his computer, but I want to make sure that it's just that and has nothing to do with his sim or sim files. Are most simfiles accurate?
I'm looking on the site you provided and I see multiple USB adapters. But you recommend the EMS USB Adapter for the PSX, correct?

New questions:
Got RDM working. Real nice. But how do I convert mp3's to wav format? I'm new at this, so anyone who knows the step by step process has my initial gratitude.
Are 8th Style and 9th Style bms's out? I know it's against the rules to post links to find them, but can anyone give me good place to start looking? And, yes I've tried search engines. Let's just say if they did turn up something, I wouldn't be asking this question.
And it says that the image load failed before I play a song. Granted, I don't have the file, of course, but where can I find those? _________________

Okay, I got a couple of questions, so I hope this thread hasn't died yet...
I got Rhythm It, and it says stuff like <song>.wav load failed and <song>.mp3 failed as well as <song>.gif load failed. How do I get videos and music to work?
For the .wav, how do I convert to that from mp3?
I also got BemaniaDX. How do I get other Skins/Visions to work? The sounds not working either. Does it have something to do with obtaining a seperate music file, like above?
Got DTXMania. It's not working....sort of. I load the DTXMania executable, and try to play some songs, but it says something like there is no data. I downloaded some songs, and I can play them if I run them straight from the files, just not from the DTX.exe. How do I make it so DTXMania recognizes them? _________________
