What version of DDR did you "Grow up" on?

For me it was Konamix,

That game also opened me up more to songs like B4U, and Burnin' The Floor. They are still some of my favorites.

I really didn't get any home version because i didn't want to import at that time (still don't =P) and there were no USA home versions.

i started on a max 2 but got serious on a ddr US 1st mix (the one with butterfly)

I started seriously working on my skillz on DDR for the PS1.
MAX and MAX2 helped me PA/FS.
And Lately EX has been my FS builder with my PS MAX...

4th Mix from Japan was the mix that I grew up on and learned on. I remember the first song I ever played on heavy was Only You!

Yep, it was all about Kick the Can and Dam Dariam! Then I got DDRMAX USA and Konamix and I play in the arcade on MAX2. Yeah, MAX2 really helped me to become better and start doing catas!

I remember when trying to pass Afronova light and Paranoia Rebirth light were accomplishments! Those were the days. . . however, I didnt' pass a hard song until 7th mix showed up. Groove 2001

i used to watch my friends play on 5th mix but i didn't really start playing until the day we got our 7th mix machine. hehe, but i learned most of my skills playing stepmania...

Well my arcade did and still has a usa and and extreme. I had to always play on the usa machine...BAH. All the good people would always kick me off the extreme...

The very first game of DDR I ever played was on a 3rd Mix Asian, but the one I was using when I got hooked on the game was a 4th Mix Plus.

2nd, 3rd and euromix started me off
then after a year of hardly playing
5th mix got me onto 5 footers,
euromix 2 got me onto 6s
extreme got me onto 7s and 8s.

and im still there!

Euromix for the ps1 for a while, then i got party edition (konamix to the american folk out there) and i got better and started doing some 5s then i found euromix 2 in the arcades and ive been playing that and some 5th mix ever since

i just started towards the end of last year with konamix on my friends game. I'm not as good as all of you, but i can do tricks or standards, i'm not quite up to maniac though

5th Mix all the way!

The local arcades only had a Solo2k1, and a korean3rdv2, so I was pretty much raised on that and DDRUS and Disney Mix. Once I got more decent, a 4th mix came to town, as did Konamix. I was at the do well on 7-9 level, when a local place got a MAX machine. AS the MAX machine got upgraded, so did my skills. There are now 4 Extremes in town, a MAX2, a barely operational Solo2k1, and a 4th.
