Well you have to understand that everyone wants to sing and get a good score.. right? If they put some really really great quality singing songs, I doubt a lot of people would pass them.
Like if they put Whitney Houstons "I will Always Love you" only a few people could match the notes and tones, whereas complicated... any one can sing that matching the tones.
I'd be pretty pissed if I had to sing Christina Aguilera's songs and fail cuz i dont have that wonderful singing voice. Ya know what i mean?
BTW theres new screen caps up. |

I don't think they missed the point at all. If you're going to make a karaoke game and you want to actually sell as many copies as you can, you're going to put in a lot of contemporary pop songs with a bunch of oldies but goodies mixed in there. That's what they did. I know when I turn on the radio, I'm more likely to sing some cheesy pop tune than something that requires an amazing voice. _________________

Couldn't there be some inbetween? Some popular songs that don't require an amazing voice - yet have more than 3 notes? |

I think the song list is fine. Some of these songs are pretty damn hard to get good scores on in the hardest difficulty.
I played an almost-complete version this week. This game is cool. You should all get it. _________________

Here's a small list of the major Jpop artist that will appear:
(There is alot more artists in all of the volumes but I listed the more popular ones.)

Hamasaki Ayumi
Every Little Thing (E.L.T)

I think these volumes of Karaoke Revolution are awesome, and the songs that they selected are great. Brings back memories of when they frist came out in Japan. I'm so excited about this game. I want to buy them all including the U.S release. |

|
|
Some one was asking how this game is played.
This game is being released for PS2 (Japan) and PS2 (Noth America).
The North American Version is being released on November 5th of this year. It will be sold for $39.99 U.S. (That's just with the game.) It will also be sold as a bundle with the microphone for about $59.99 U.S. (I haven't seen a price for the bundle exactly, but I am willing to bet it's around that.) But for those who have the Socom mic, it should work for this game becuase it's a USB mic.
In terms of game play, you have to sing to get points and ratings. A lot like DDR, you have to be able to time the singing. But unlike DDR, you also have to sing at the right pitch for the best scores.
The reason why Konami didn't make any original songs for the game, is because people have to know the melody of the music. It's just so much easier to use famous songs. A lot of people know the songs, and if the lyrics escape their memory, the words on the screen remind you of what they are. While if they were to make a new song with lyrics, not only would you have to get to know a new melody, but lyrics as well.
I hope that helps. |

No need to worry. The software of a PS2 isn't as advanced as to tell if you have a "wonderful" singing voice. It's a system based on pitch rather then it recognizing whether you are a good singer or a poor one. If you can still make the note and the pitch, even if you don't sound like them, you will get a decent score.
In theory, anyone can pass the Japanese version to this game even if they don't know/read any Japanese. Again, if they can make the note/pitch, you should be able to pass it. |

Hmm. So after eading the US version's songlist, I guess we won't be singing any of Naoki's, Captain Jack's, or other really great Bemani artists? But I wanted to sing D2R so badly! I can imitate the rapper and the woman's voices so easily! I don't wanna sing any Christine A. songs! I want Bemani artists' songs that I remember hearing! Oh well, I'm not buying it, unless the Japanese version differs..... _________________

I am so hoping you guys are joking about the Bemani songs NOT being in the games.i mean..this game isnt made for regular ddr players.it's made for people who like karaoke! u see there are no Bemani songs in the Japanese versions so what would make u think there would be any of them in the US version? and yes i know that frezzeop song is in the game and i have no clue as to why it's there but how many NON music game players will actually know it???? |

I don't see how you would need someone to romanize the listing for you.... and think that you'd be able to play this game. _________________
