laugh.gif That's what I'm talking about...I wouldn't remove the bar at all, because i know of at least one person who has to use the bar due to his knee...if he didn't then he'd mess it up and be out of ddr for a long time...and losing him on the PA scene would suck (seeing as how he's undefeated)..back on topic, the one bar for both sides idea would be interesting, especially for bar flips and such on doubles... drool.gif

Someone mentioned an attachable bar... I would love that idea, but I'm not sure how sturdy it would be.. laugh.gif

But I think if there was a safe way to do it, it would be a great asset...

How about...

The bars on the left and right are... bars.
The under scores are bars for the back.
The boxes are the pads.
I never thought of doubles...

I was thinking of something like this but simpler. Instead of bars on the back of each set of 4 arrows, we have one on the left of first player, and one on the right of the second, so the back of the pads is open, and the sides have bars, damn now it just sounds stupid...

The only reason i would like the bars is to do bar hops. Otherwise get rid of them. To the bar rapers of america and wherever else: If you can't AAA a song without bar raping, you aren't that great in my eyes. I saw the video of Yasu (I think it was him) AAAing Max 300, but he bar raped the whole songs. sarc.gif

Ok lets see you do it with or without the bars. If people can do something with the bar that you can't do without it, you have nothing over them at all.

I'd like none, but that wouldn't be "safe" and probably not preferred by anyone else but me.

you got my vote. a barless stage would be nice. it would free it up for crazier freestyle imho.

yeah. i learned to play at home where there arent any bars. i hit my foot on them at least once a round and i cant stand it when i mess up a song because of that. also, it would eliminate the bar-raping community and end the age-old debate: to rape, or not to rape, that is the question. laugh.gif

Taking the bars out is definitely the wrong thing to do. First of all, what happens when someone takes a bad step or there's just a little too much sweat on the pad (goog.gif) ? I suppose we just let them fall right? Not to mention, while someone said it would open up freestyle, it would essentially eliminate the possibility of a lot of the acrobatic tricks like bar flares (although we could do without the matrix walking E4.gif ). As for bar-raping, it has its uses for sure. It's a good way to get started with the really stamina intesive songs. Personally I only use it when I'm starting out on a really hard fast song (working on MAX 300 now) and then gradually work my way out of it, and I can tell you that it has helped me tremendously without being a "crutch".

As for the topic, I think adding a bar to the far-left and far-right would definitely be cool for freestylers, but it would also limit them almost equally (see for example the DJ-8Ball & Samantha Syncro Love routine). I'd say leave the bars the way they are.

the one bar is just fine =).
but IMO everyone who says "lets remove the bar to prevent bar raping", is no where near at the point of being able to pass songs like Maxx Unlimited, PSM Oni, and such. Cuz if u had tried u would know that there are parts of those songs that are very difficult without the bar, and id say COMPLETLEY impossible to PA thru without the bar. Personally, I can pass Maxx without the bar(from playing it on max2 at home lol) but if im playing it in the arcade i will use the bar in some parts in order to keep my combo or help my PA, but since u ppl that say "remove the bar completley!!!!!" probly dont even try for PA on 10 foot songs(if u try for it at all), u wouldnt know what im talking about.
And to the person who said they werent impressed with Yasu's AAA on Max300 cuz he used the bar... i dont even know where to start... i agree with levin, lets see u AAA it without the bar so u can impress urself.

Hmm... I would have thought that more than one bar would have been more popular than the shown turn out. disturb.gif disgust.gif disturb.gif

On a side note, this is my 300th post, and in a month and a few days. Yay for me!
