Anyone else play fast songs on DDR and have the bridges of their feet to start hurting? I was playing Least 100 on standard yesterday and the bridges of my feet were killing me after one go round =( anyone else have this trouble and ways to get rid of it? _________________

I'm a moron, so i keep playing anyways. However, I have found that rolling your foot over a ball of some sort (tennis ball) can work greatly, and alternating ice and heat on it can help too...that and taking a few days off ddr. (as much as that sucks) _________________

If I do a paranoia double and I'm not warmed up enough, my feet hurt. Also, my guess is that if the bridges of your feet hurt, you are most likely stomping. Use your toes, that's what they are there for. When you use them, they don't make you sound as loud as flatfoot, and you can move faster. _________________

This is what I do, and I find it works quite well as long as you don't do it to an extreme and slip off the pad because you get no traction. But if you play without shoes, I guess that wouldn't matter.
I've also found that if you DDR regularly, I've gotten used to using my feet in that way, so they've grown accustomed to it. Another thing is, I hope for your sake you aren't like so many people that use one foot for -one- arrow and the other for the other three. X_x I doubt you're that new to the game, so I won't accuse you of that. ^_^ But it -is- a possibility.
And if it is, stop! >O .... XD _________________

Well, if you want to be stupid enough to first of all bring a tennis ball to an arcade, and second of all roll around on it in front of people. But if your at home, its a great idea...it really does feel good. Sometimes, I get the WORST cramps while playing (like max300 maniac) and I just seriously wish ed I would die. Lesson from story: Take breaks...dont play on and on without breaks or your screwed. _________________

Try arch supports or something to help cushion and support your feet better. _________________

i find that most of my problems with foot pain are just conditioning issues, especially during the transition from standard to heavy...but if you're still having pain, then yes, things like arch supports are helpful. in many cases as well, you might need new soles, ones designed for running help me out in a lot of cases, but yeah. pain tends to disappear as you play more and more...cold kills pain! (well not really, but it's soothing)
...however, if you miss that pain, you can always play barefoot... _________________

My foot pain is very weird....
My right foot seems to always cramp up after I'm finished playing heavy mode..I always massage it after I'm done playing, but it's really odd.
Yeah I play on my toes when I'm doing heavy, but on Standard I use my feet, I'm still quiet cause I'm so light and I can do PA better like that ^^ _________________

Ah, that can be done by running your own webserver and linking to an image on it. Anytime someone loads an image that's located on your webserver you'll find their IP (I mean, you have to in order to be able to send them the image), and web browsers also volunteer all sorts of information along with the request; the web browser version as well as OS version and sometimes stuff like screen resolution or even your email address (though I think they haven't done that since like 1998 or something), as well as what webpage that image was viewed from. I host a lot of people's images on my webserver and have found out about several supposedly secret places that way. Given this information one can write a CGI program that outputs a custom image for everyone spitting that information right back at them.
As for foot pain, actually I've got the reverse problem. I always play on tiptoes because my feet are quite big and don't fit on the pads. Unfortunately about a week ago I ripped my achilles tendon whilst playing Daikenkai Standard (I'd been playing for like three hours beforehand), and stupidly carried on playing. Needless to say I was in excruciating pain for five minutes, couldn't walk for another two hours and had a dull ache there for about three days afterwards.
The sad thing is after I could walk again I got straight back on and promptly started trying Catas. That probably didn't help esp seeing as I ended up spending something like 25GBP ($40 at $1.50 per game) that day... what can I say, I like doubles, heh. |

I have to be careful about my feet since I have diabetes. So normally, I would wear TWO PAIRS of socks with my running/walking shoes. Although I change my shoes every 3-4 months (not because of my insoles, but the outside treads are worn out!), I try to do a lot of stretching on my legs as well as going for a brisk 15-minutes walk before hitting that DDR machine! Is that a trip or what? Please reply, over! Thanks!

This definetly happens to me if I don't warm up first. Sometimes there's a large crowd by the empty DDR machine and I just HAVE to do V doubles and So Deep before warming up. Ouch talk about hurtage. It goes away after playing a bit though... |
