Okay, I was looking through my Stepmania files, correcting the little annoyances (incorrect steps, incorrect naming, etc.) when I noticed the CD title for Baby Love Me was just "Dancemania" which is what turtle of turtleddr usually gives to songs he doesn't know the origin of (this also happened with DJ Miko's Sky High, which was from Dancemania X3). So I looked on the Dancemania website to see if I could track down the CD it was from and GUESS WHAT. It's just not there! Baby Love Me (Speed Mix) was listed on Speed 9, but I doubt that's the same mix. Konami is usually better about catching errors than THAT. All the same, when 7th Mix came out, Speed 9 hadn't been released yet, we were only up to Speed 8 at that point. So I checked Konami's website to see what they had to say about the song's origin, and guess what they said? "Dancemania". Dancemania isn't even a CD, the first of the Dancemania series is "Dancemania 1". Very curious indeed... _________________

That IS weird. o_o I would think the song would be somewhere on the Dancemania CDs (particularly Speed or Happy Paradise) but I can't find it anywhere myself. Then again, Judy Crystal seems to be an enigma wrapped inside a mystery conveniently tucked into a puzzle. I can't find any information about her anywhere! Not even the DDR soundtrack booklets, which clued me in on John Desire's Hot Limit, help me on her. |

um... baby love me speed mix (the same song, i have the cd) is on dancemania speed 9, track 7. since max2 came out first, they knew the song would be released on a dancemania album but maybe they just didnt know which one, so they simply put the vague "Dancemania" with no sub title or number. _________________

synchronized love has lots of different mixes, but anyway, the only difference between the two baby love me's is that one of them was cut to about 1:30. _________________

Wait, if there's a Baby Love Me remix, wouldn't that imply that there was an original Baby Love Me? Since Baby Love Me appeared on DDRMAX2 before Dancemania Speed 9, one would assume that it is the original, but where did it come from? _________________

I'm gonna trust cfusion on this one, actually. It turns out Konami is actually TERRIBLE about catching errors like this. Just to name a few of the glaring examples, they didn't list any version name for Waka Laka, while the version of it that appears in DDR is the E=MC2 Mix. All the Konami songs that got Oni remixes had version names too. For example, the remix of Superstar is commonly known as Superstar (From Nonstop Megamix). However, it's real title is Superstar (DJ Nikaido & E. Isomura Remix). Wild Rush from Nonstop Megamix? Try Wild Rush (PCM Mix). The banner for More Than I Needed To Know lists the artist as "Scooth". The banner for Never Gonna Make lists the version as (Factory Dance Team Mix) when it should be (Factory Team Dance Mix). The funniest one to me, however, is Vol. 4 by Ravers Choice. Lemme 'splain. No, there is no time, lemme sum up.....
In rave music, when a record company wants to get a song out to DJs quickly and cheaply, they release what's called a "white label". This is a record with a blank label and record sleeve so you have no idea what's actually on there. There is, however, an engraving on EVERY record (and yes, by record I mean vinyl) that gives the company name (sorta..... Alphabet City is listed as ABCD, Hooj Choons is listed as HOOJ, etc.) and the release number. DJs will generally refer to white label records by their record name and number. So the white label of the remixes of Madagascar by Art Of Trance would be called Platipus 53 (I made that number up, I don't remember the actual number of that record) by DJs who didn't know what else to call the tune. Ravers Choice Vol. 4 would be the 4th record released by Ravers Choice, anyone know the name of it? I can't find a company website anywhere. I'm guessing the song is called Popcorn though... _________________
