If you havent played in a month, then you probably don't really like it that much anymore

I don't really play too much DDR anymore. I guess you could say I lost my love for it, but frankly I would rather spend money on IIDX than on DDR. You shouldn't feel forced to play the game, since it is there for entertainment.

I was suffering from the same sort of thing - not so much a lack of enjoyment of DDR (I still loved it, and the simple fact is if you don't enjoy something that's not a problem, that's just time to stop). Rather I found myself playing less and less as time went on.

My reason (I don't know if you suffer the same) was simply a lack of competition - I'm the only person I know who plays to any real degree. Over here (Dublin, Ireland) the main players are bar-hugging fourteen year-olds and the very occasional perfect attacker. I had no-one to beat, no urge to improve.

DDRfreak changed all that (thanks guys!).

I was in London for a weekend, met a player there who recommened this site - and it triggered a total renaissance in me! Access to the forums, and now (at last) the videos has put me in total dance meltdown, back the way I used to be. I'm lucky if I can get through a day without ducking off early to play.

Now I've modded my home mat, am upgrading my freestyling (I always groove it up, but don't have a full routine), improving my timing, A-cing all the songs, got the urge to move, the Beats-Per-Minute pulsing through my veins and it is great.

Keep it up, y'all - I'm with you all the way!

bah the reason you lost your love for DDR was prolly cuz u really need to move on to another bemani game, exactly what i did, i stopped playing DDR and realized how much i didn't really like it, so i moved onto IIDX biggrin.gif give another bemani game a try, maybe thats a reason y you may not like it. Other than that, stop being lazy and keep plain DDR.

I doubt someone that has played all the Bemani games would still call DDR their favorite. After playing all the Bemani games I found DDR is my least favorite. But, to each his own.

IIDX>>DDR

I know that feeling ._. not to show off, but i know 1, maybe 2 people that i actually want to play against and think i could lose against.. If i wasn't so stupidly addicted i'd probably have stopped playing for fun ages ago frown.gif

Quite frankly, I've grown tired of the whole "sit on your buttocks and press buttons" concept of gaming, its just boring to me. Beatmania really seems no different then stepmania to me, except with different songs. But to each their own.

Just marry DDR, and have little DDR babies, because then you'll be stuck with DDR even if you don't love DDR anymore.

to get back into ddr..start to freestyle. that what happened to me. freestyle at an arcade and get a crowd and your love will be refeuled by the crowd. and as for other benami games are getter than ddr...never. benami games are the greatest thing to hit gaming but no1 gets crowds hittin 3 little buttons on a plastic toy guitar or spinnin a fake plasic disk. not happenin. ddr is by fair my fav of all the benami games.

Just to let you know, not being able to spell is worse than hugging the bar.

If you are losing interest in DDR why not try reading?

Exactly! IIDX is a good coffee break from DDR that I do have fun playing, but DDR is the Bemani game that is truly thrilling and exciting. IIDX is indeed exciting and challenging, but your basically seperating your mind and fingers from the rest of the world. In DDR nothing is seperated. You really do something in real life that gives you a natural high.

And yes I have played all Bemani (even Keyboard Mania!) and still say DDR is the best.

However the above 1st paragraph almost answers the topic question. DDR requires serious energy to play. Energy is tough to come by after awhile. Since games like IIDX require almost no energy naturally people take a liking to IIDX instead. Nothing wrong with liking IIDX by itself though.
