most of my friends jus dont get ddr..they are all like "ddr sucks, why do u waste ur money?" sum of em even call it a azn thing cuz most da azns play at my arcade..i think they should jus give it a chance insted of jus calling it "gay" and other names...anyone else wit dis situation..

There are a ton of Topics about this, but I'll tell you what, the best way to get back at them is ask them to do a Heavy song with a x5 speed modifier, Reverse and Boost, then you have [stupidpun]RE-VENGE![/stupidpun].

Its just cause they suck at it and they know it. If you ask them to play they will just say no because they think its stupid but they know thats not true. They just suck.

These people are too self conscious to play DDR. They just don't learn to forget about what other people think of them, just enjoy the game, and focus on improving their own skills.

Hi there, nyo!

Im livin in germany and almost nobody around here have ever heard of DDR before! I showed it to lots of my friends and most of them loved it at the first sight, nyo!
The only problem is that most of the people (excluding my friends) around here only like Hip Hop and RMB music (ugh! The world needs more such great DDR dancepop stuff, nya!) and if i show ddr to them, they usually play Mr. Cool and say that they dont play such 'childish crap'. Thats mean, nyo!
I hope dance music will become more popular in the future, nyooo~ (yay~ Thanks to Coca Cola, cause ya see two boys playin DDR in their new TV-Spot!!!)

It could be they could be jealous and tryna envy you cause they might not be as good as you. But again I don't understand, the most common thing I hear from DDR haters are the games gay!

It comes down to social standing, human nature, and downright jealousy. Think about a time when you went to an arcade and saw somebody destroying everyone else at a game without really trying. You were in awe of the person, but you were also jealous because said person was attracting attention. Also, the people that tend to diss the game are usually in groups, and they "usually" *covers self* tend to be teenage guys in groups with girls because they KNOW they can't do it, so they try to make it look/seem dumb or stupid so they don't lose face. I usually just tell them, "If it's so dumb, then how about I'll pay for you to play against me, and since you're so cool, you should easily beat a loser like me"...they either shut up...or they get max300 heavy first stage. That shuts them up rather quickly. Don't let it get to you, because they know they can't arrow stomp like you can and they don't want to admit that you may in fact be better at something then they are. *deposits 2 cents*

I receive a few funky looks from people sometimes when I play DDR.. probably either because I'm playing it in the first place, or I'm one of the only black gals out there in this area who actually does DDR. I need to get some more of them into it...

but yeah, people who say it sucks are just self-concious or jealous or whatever insecurities are there... or yeah, just like the squidward and the krabby patty thing. (loved that episode by the way.)

Just show them some freestyle videos, my favorite is Chango playing Bumble Bee basic. the look on his face when he fails makes up for his lack of talent. Actually, my favorite is 8-ball & Samatha's Synchronized Love routine. That gets most people I know at least somewhat interested.

some people just think ddr is wierd, like my friend, i even got him to try it once, and he still thinks its very f'd up. and he makes fun of me for liking it (but he's only joking) he doesnt mind if i like it, but i dont care if he doesnt like it

just because people dont like it, doesnt mean that they are snobby or jealous, maybe they just *gasp* dont like it

if people make fun of you for playing it, is that really going to bother you? as long as you're having fun, who really cares what other people think

i wish i didn't care what other people thought but it frick pisses me off when people call the game gay behind my back while i'm playing. that's just straight up rude. i mean, pretty much everyone looks dumb when you play ddr. you're sweaty, stompin on arrows starin at a screen so intently you can't look away once. unless you're freestylin, which prolly makes you a bigger target. but keep people need to keep their comments to their self. i don't think it really has anything to do with jealousy. people just make fun of the game outloud to raise their own image(feel better) by bringing you down. we prolly all have been guilty of this at some point or another but it's still annoying.

but anyways, the reality is a lot of people don't like the game. you don't need to persuade your friends to like it, just don't let em rag on the game all the time.
