My fav song is Dive, which MAX2 has two versions of. I love MAX2 also because of the rest of the songs. There is not a song on that mix that i do not like.

I'm all about 5th Mix. It's got a good majority of my favorite songs, it's the Mix I grew up on, and it's got Long Versions for those times that you just wanna test the patience of the other players. Besides, it's got Maho. I don't really need any other reason besides that. E4.gif

And I have to agree with gladjss88. MAX2's songlist was great. With the exception of Cowgirl, I don't think there was any song in there that I could truly say I hated.

My absolute favorite as of now is Extreme. It's the latest and has the most old songs.

However, the first arcade machine that I ever played regularly was a MAX2. I didn't start on it, for I had been playing Konamix since last summer, but I do owe a lot to it, for helping me improve. It's also the one I usually play, since our arcade now has a MAX2 and Extreme, and there is usually a line for Extreme.

I still wish I could find a 3rd Mix + somewhere. At the arcade at the beach where we go, it's now an Extreme, but used to be a 3rd mix, and it was the first arcade machine I played more than a few times.

I'm going to have to go with 5th Mix on this one. For one thing it had Bumble Bee, Cafe, Petit Love, Moonlight Shadow, Neverending Story, and Dancing Pompokolin on there. Second, it had the long versions of a couple of songs which I thought was an awsome idea. Even though I think they should have only counted as one song a piece, I still liked them. Third, I loved selecting the characters. I often find myself wishing there was still a 5th mix around where I live, but it seems that everything is being replaced with Extreme. Not the end of the world, but I'd like to play 5th every now and then. E1.gif

4th Mix Plus, it's the DDR I grew up on next to USA mix. It has the best interface too. Before all the 10 footers, when everyone would go out and dance for the sake of dancing to music that sounded good even without arrows.

Best has gotta be Extreme...has a nice mix of songs but i HATE the beginner mode. people just need to learn on light like myself and nearly everyone else! you get better faster!

And the worst well.....USA (if it wasnt obvious)

I think Beginner mode is a very good thing. If you feel like you are able to do *something* in a game, then it is much more rewarding to play. People will end up playing more if they think, "oh it was fun and it's possible, I'll try the harder difficulties later." Arcade-browser X who hasn't played DDR before won't be saying, "I don't know what this game is, but i want to make sure that I play on Light mode so that I can learn it faster."

You have to get a nibble on your line before you try to set the hook.

I've always liked DDRMAX2 and 4th mix. I'm partial to 4th mix I guess, that was the mix I learned how to play on about a year ago. And MAX2 just has a lot of great songs on it. I've never really had anything to complain about with that mix! E4.gif

I'd have to say Extreme is my fave because all the songs I like are on it.

I've had a grudge against DDRMAX2 eversince I played My Summer Love on it. I've never gotten over 25 greats on Extreme and I got 75 on MAX2.

Extreme, so far. Speed Over Beethoven is, without a doubt, my favorite DDR song ever.

For now, it would be 4th Mix. It was the Machine I learned to Maniac on, and the Machine I impress crowds on. Wish they had 4th Mix Plus, darn no All Music selection!

I'd say my favorite mix would be between 4th plus and 5th. I really like the new steps for old songs and the korean songs on 4th plus. For 5th, the overall songlist was just awesome and it was the first time i learned how to gallop on 5th mix.
