OK Im lookign into getting a Popn Music controller. Small one not ACS. Lan Kwei doe snot have them in stock, they emailed me back saying there wer enone left and they had no definite restock date. I also dont feel like paying 80 + shipping at Himeya. The only place left is Rinkya. Does anyone know the conversion from Yen to dollars? Cause theres one for 2100 yen and it soudns cheap but I dunno. Also, I know that would be 2500 yen plus Japanese EMS rates not sure how much that is plus about 500 yen for Himeya charges. Is that it or am I missing something? Could someone help me out? And if anyone wants to sell me theirs.... |

It happens every once in a while to me, too. It doesn't seem to damage anything; at least, it hasn't yet. It's a bit annoying, but it goes away after a while.
I think Rinkya's got the Yen>Dollar exchange rate somewhere on their site. |

(warning: it's hi-res)
The tennis ball halves are glued down to circles of cardboard, which are then glued down to keys. I used Household Goop for all of it. Occasionally I stick a couple of other keys underneath the buttons for support, making sure that I disable the keys beforehand.
Unfortunately, I don't have a PS2 so I'm stuck using Feeling Pomu. And since FP doesn't let you remap the keys, I have to have a .reg file so that I can change my keyboard's mapping scheme whenever I want to play
If anyone's interested, I'll gladly post which keys I'm using and the registry key I use to change the mappings to work with FP (WinXP only) |
Is that a PnM Simulator you use? You think you can host it again (is down) and probably tell me about songs and stuff? You seem to know a lot of stuff. |

Yeah i kno the IIDX controller is good for 5 key but the extra keys were gettin in the way. anyways i decided not to get a 5 key controller anyway |
That site has a lot of cool stuff for cheap, like those modchips. Do you know if it's reliable enough? |

Is there such thing as cheap para para paradise controllers? I havn't bought any bemani yet (aside from ddr..) but I am going to get ppp next, then iidx and pnm.
I was looking around ebay and saw a link.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3040890627&category=21188
Can anyone tell me if that is a "cheap" one, I want to inquire to the guy selling it, but I'm not exactly sure what to ask.
Thanks. |

Yes that is cheap! I havent checked in a while but what do they go for, $80? I'm sure the price will go up as people see it and bid on it. I myself dont feel like getting into another Bemani game. DDR, IIDX, and pop n' music are enough. Although, may I suggest you go for IIDX, PNM, and THEN PPP, But thats just me. Doesn't PPP only have one mix? I would grab this controller if it doesnt go too high in price just to top off the Bemani collection. |

Ok, I have an interesting question. I have a IIDX controller right now and IIDX games, etc. Im interested in getting into pop'n music, but I dont want to settle for that little controller, i want to either build my own or save up for an ASC. Now heres the question. Before I get my popn controller.... could I like use my IIDX contoller to play pop'n on 5 key mode? I assume that would be better than using the dual shock. |

Yes you can. You can even play nine key if you feel like a challenge. (Depending on which way you turn the turn table it a different button) Keys are mapped the exact same way in both controllers they just look different. _________________

wow you're right! thats pretty cool . On my spare time im gonna TRY to make a PNM controller. I got the top part of the controller pretty much done(1/2 in plywood spraypainted black, yea lol). The tough part for me is going to make the buttons further apart and where I want them. Luckily I know someone good at stuff like this . Now I just have to think of button ideas that are big enough for my holes and a bottom part for the controller, and some way to push the buttons down and hit the activators. It's a fun project and gives me sumthin to do when i cant play DDR after working 10 hour days lol. Ill post pics when it's done. (hopefully) |

Where are you getting your parts (buttons and stuff), possibly Happ Control parts?
If you ever finish this, could you write the directions for a FAQ or something while doing it?
Also what are the keys on Pop'n Music mapped as on the Dual Shock... are they the same on a digital controller? (dual shock is analog.. non-dual shock is digital..) |

Okay I know that there are some posts previously about this but I really need help and some others have had the same question but no one has answered. About 3 months ago I purchased the Official IIDX controller (not the arcade style, the long rectangular one) and have had no problems with it until recently. The middle two white keys seem to be sticking down and will not pop back up. I have opened the button console and cleaned out the finger goo but it hasn't helped.
1. Should I mod the controller? I have heard about cardboard and foot inserts, but where should you glue them and with what adhesive should you use?
2. Should i check the screws or circuit board? Is it possible that the screws are too tight or too loose or that it was put back together incorrectly? Basically when I put it back together I placed the keys back into the rectange holes, put the little rubber cylinders in the tops of the keys, put the board back over that, and then screwed it back in.
3. Should I use lubricant? Will this screw up the sensors or make it stick worse? I am thinking if I used a little wd40 it might pop out faster or not stick?
Please help, because I just bought 4th style and I need a controller that will work, and I will NOT go back to the triangle boomerang with the little buttons again. |

How is this as a IIDX controller?
http://www.redoctane.com/beatmaniacontroller.html
Is this the "Rave Discman" that clockwise linked to? I can't really tell because that link doesn't work anymore....
Even if it is....how bad could it be? I won't have the $120+ to spend on an official controller for probably at least 3 months the way things are going right now.....and I really don't wanna wait 3 months to play IIDX. _________________

Imagine learning how to play DDR on a round pad with round arrow buttons that are half the size of the normal pad and are really close together. Thats essentially what the rave man is to a real IIDX controler. If it were free I'd tell you go with it til you can get a real IIDX controller but tis not worth the money. Just save up the 80 dollars for a IIDX controller from Yesasia. If you cant afford the game just play sims on the IIDX controller til you can. Its all worth it in the end. _________________

Problem: Yesasia has been out of them for a while and they wont say when they're getting more of them (I even e-mailed them and they said they didn't know).
Yesasia was my frist choice to get one (I mean 85 with free shipping is damn sweet), but I've been checking back there everyday for a while now and so far no stock in at all...... _________________
