Meh, 5th is a'ight, but no way in hell is it better than Extreme.

The place I play has a 5th, 6th, and Extreme and the only one I don't play is the 5th.

Yeah, there are some good old songs on it, but there are so many more on Extreme. The songs on 5th are, for the most part, played out. Forget Hot Limit, Furhata's Theme, BB$, Wonda, all the E-Rotic songs etc. They had their day, and now it has passed.

I hate 1x speed (I can do it, but I don't like it). I hate the characters too. I hope they get rid of it at my arcade.

Maybe I like So Deep too much ( I'd defently take a machine that just had that song on it over a regular 5th), but 5th is a relic that needs to be forgotten IMO.

Btw, 4th Plus pwnz 5th. My Fire is the shiz.

Wow i didn't know how lucky i was to have the 5th mix near me.And probaably i would rather play that then the Extreeme thats just as close 4 times out of 5. I have to agree that the songs to me on 5th are just more fun to play. When I watch people play Extreeme it gets boring. I try to play more of the fun songs one of my favortie being Saint goes marching. Most people here who are defending EX seem to keep going back to the point of how it has tons more songs. But who cares if you don't play even a third of them.

I really like 5th mix also its my fav mix but I dont hate Extreme, Extreme totally owns 5th but I just want 5th again to play God of Romance

I agree kakumei, I wish they had more songs from 5th mix on extreme. oh, does anyone know why the home version 5th mix stopped being sold?

Gonna say 5th mix had the best freestylable songs on it's songlist. And most importantly LONG VERSIONS KICKS BOOTAY! Hot Limit anyone? Plus 5th Mix had evil frickin Moonlight Shadow heavy doubles. That was sick.

Oh and 4+ Solo: 2 minutes away; Extreme: 10 minutes away; 5th Mix 30 minutes away; Max 2: 1 hour. I am content with what I have.

Which irritates me because 5th is an excellent mix that has many great songs not found on Extreme.

Although in the end, I think if Konami had just put some actual thought into the old songs they brought up into Extreme, I wouldn't care about the 5th.

First of all, let me say that my local arcade's combination of 5th and Extreme is great. Of course, I've seen Extremes at 50c for 3 songs and 5ths for 75c for 4 songs, but we still have both (it's just more expensive).

Extreme could have shamed every other mix easily if Konami had revived the following:

-Characters
-Long Versions
-The other announcer (Give it your best shot!")
-The whole friggin' 5th mix songlist.

But especially those long versions. With those gone, Hot Limit may stand a chance at being shortened, but B4U Glorious Style will never appear in another mix again. If you don't give a crap about that, go to the nearest 5th mix and play B4U Glorious Style Maniac. Not only is it one of the best songs ever, but the steps are fun to do and you can draw Hugh-Jass crowds. Anyway, all the long versions were good except the techno remix of Oops I Did It Again.

Then there's the announcer. His voice is kind of scratchy, he has this obnoxious accent that I can't identify, and the things he says are the worst. Ever. I mean, the last guy was awesome (if not, inadvertently hilarious)

And just look at how many great songs went by the wayside after 5th Mix:
-Dancing All Alone
-Dancing Pompokolin
-Seventeen
-All the E-ROTIC stuff
-God of Romance
-Movin' On (Ok, I don't like it but a lot of people do)
-Neverending Story
-Hot Limit
-Pink Dinosaur
-Furuhata's Theme
-Those 2Unlimited songs
-Cafe
-Petit Love
-Do Me!
-Lupin the 3rd
-Theme from Enter the Dragon
-Sky High
-B4U Glorious Style

I could name more, but you get the picture.
While a lot of those songs may be liscensed, so were Butterfly and Dam Dariram and a bunch of other recurring songs.

So basically, if they were to put all this into the next mix with their usual upgrades and all the new stuff as well, it would be so great this discussion would be over.

i dunno about u guys but i play songs that i lyke to listen too,a lot of people do, i barely play for diffculty even though i can do a lot of cats. i think 4th mix was the best! then 5th then 7th. extreme really sux, only songs i lyke on it is WAKA LAKA, Look To The Sky thats bout it. I really wish they had a 4th mix machine around. I never see them anymore, last time i saw one was last year..... cmon how can u forget HERO, KICK THE CAN, ONE TWO, VOL. 4, BUMBLE BEE, MR. WONDERFUL, PINK DINOSAUR, YOUNG FOREVER, DREAM A DREAM, STOMP TO MY BEAT, WONDERLAND, BOOM BOOM DOLLAR (K.O.G G3 MIX), FOLLOW THE SUN, and a lot more. damn i miss 4th mix, i can only play it at home

Last summer in Ocean City, NJ we had a Max and a 3rd Mix Korean 2, both which are very uncommon now.

This year, the Max got upgraded to Max 2, the 3rd Mix Korean 2 got upgraded to an Extreme and the 1st arcade also added a 2nd Max 2. But then they downgraded the 2nd Max 2 to a 5th Mix. After playing a 5th Mix machine for the first time, I didn't play Max 2 once the rest of the night. I would take 5th Mix over Max 2 and Extreme any day.

5th Mix is awesome. 4th+ is awesome. MAX 2 sucks. Extreme is awesome. Just keep in mind: MAX 2 sucks!

5th mix > Extreme
Any #mix other than 1st > Extreme (for the most part)

I think once max came out everything went downhill for freestyling and good songs. And tech went up.

I love the 5th mixes, fourtunatley, there's not one around here I've only played when I was on vacation, I loved it though, they're becoming extinct just like the 3rd koreans, gosh I love those............. extreme I could care less for.
