well i havent had any time to build any pads; so for the past year ive been using the ( sandwich pad mod ) lol.
basically you get a piece of board the size of your pad and adhere the pad to it and then get a piece of lexan or plexi glass and fit it over the top of the whole pad and then procede to use any kind of tape you want to seal it. Walla you have a hard pad. Only bad point is you cant feel the buttons but you get used to it

I made two naki pads last about a year roughly doing this and now finally they must be replaced.

I was wondering who else has done this and what luck have you had with it.

I was also wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to make the buttons ( feelable) by the feet.

oh yea... sorry about the terrible grammar. ( laughs)

I currently used a chair mat with teeth on it. I have to use alot of duct tape on the pad to get it to stay, but the hard surface below is worth it since I can get A's on Max300 heavy with this thing. This is in my living room where I can hook it up to my big screen and surround sound with sub woofer. Not permanent, because as soon as my Cobalt Flux comes in this thing is gone.

i dunno it just does lo. it doesnt show the lights coming on though when the piece is on top of it so it really doesnt apply that much pressure

althought i bought two naki dpr2 or whatever they are called the other day and those pays are WAY sensistive so im havin a little problem with the setup. I think im gonna go get some chairmats soon and try that out.

I've done this, worked ok for a while but now they are shot. Left and right buttons always stick and the back hardly ever works. Sucks because now my metal pad is busted too. I used the teethless chair-mat type, I think they call it Hardwood floor covering or something.
