Maybe because the music is pretty cool, and it got people talkin' to each other. Or is it a distraction from what is "really" happening in the world? Hmm... |

I think its because its different, and it revolutionized the arcade industry. Think about it, the last arcade game before DDR that required actual work was skee ball. It was a good change to have something where u have to move something other than ur hands. Plus i think its cause its made by konami, a already well trusted company. _________________

So playing DDR is like sorta like doing drugs

Here's why I like DDR:
Good Music
Good Workout
Moving to the rhythm
Big crowds
Make new friends
These are the reasons I play DDR. |

It's fun.
Do I need a better reason than that? _________________

DDR's popularity? I don't get it, maybe it's the showing off, or maybe it's a fad of some sort. All that I know is that I'm addicted.
Ah, and I play at XS Orlando quite regularly myself, even though it's somewhat of an embarassment having my mom there to tell me "Take a break, hon." Anyone else frequent XS? I don't wanna go too off-topic, but I see so many people there that I've only asked one person if they frequent DDRFreak, only to have them tell me that DDREI is better. |

It's an active game. The music is great - you feel as though you are making it through your motions. The reward for a good performance is instantaneous. You can see yourself improve physically too. |

Since when has DDR been popular. I love it, but if I metion it on a website other than this one I get uber-flamed. At the arcades there's always like three-four serious players, and everyone else thinks it's a joke. It's a great game, but I don't think it can be called "so popular" yet. At least the arcade version can't. The home version sells pretty well. _________________

True, true. At my arcade there was three main players. One's moved away and rumor has it the other will soon be too. That leaves me to rule the mat! Might be more fun if another pro was around to challenge me - not that I am a pro.
It's also true that DDR either gets ridicule or is unheard of anywhere else. People see me arrive at work dripping in sweat and snicker "You were dancing again, weren't you?" I hate that term: dancing. It's just a fun game. |
