I've noticed that the plurality of voters (so far) are choosing Extreme as their favorite soundtrack. Am I the only person that noticed that it's not even a complete soundtrack? For example, where in the hell is Sakura? Among others...

Needless to say, I was very disappointed with it (what happened to the days when DDR soundtracks were upwards of 50 songs? 5th=48 songs, 4th=54...)

Are you complaining that Extreme has too many songs, or what?

In answering that, I didn't really think of the actual soundtrack that was sold as much as the overall selection of new music appearing on the arcade machine. With stuff like Sakura, Cartoon Heroes, A, Frozen Ray, Gamelan De Couple, Twinbee, and so on, how can you not like Extreme?

Thank you for making my point more clear. Of the songs you list, only Cartoon Heroes and Frozen Ray are on the soundtrack. Where the hell ARE Sakura, A, Gamelan de Couple and Twinbee on the soundtrack???

I think most people missunderstood the poll. I think they think the poll is asking which mix has the best music. The Extreme OST is kinda lacking (no Sakura, Xenon, anything from GF and DM, Daikenkai, and other songs aren't there because they are already in other Bemani OSTs). As far as OSTs go, DDRMAX was by far the best, in terms of quality of music and the nonstop disc.

Yes, not to mention that the Max2 and Extreme megamixes are really really pathetic.

I voted for 3rd because of the megamix.

Yes, it seems that there was a misunderstanding with the poll, because there is no way that Extreme has the best OST. That honor goes to Max 1.

I never understood why people think the MAX soundtrack is the best. 3rd, 5th, and Extreme were much better mixes overall. I never really liked the songs in MAX. However the MAX2 soundtrack does not deserve to be above anything except the Disney soundtrack. That was one of the worse soundtracks I've heard in a LONG time.

Most people probably read the poll thinking "omg extreme rox because everyone sez so," and didn't even care that it was about the music. Extreme's music sucks a lot, as does the machine. Sure, that's my opinion, but the only reason it's worth playing is because the songs are challenging.

5th mix, in my opinion, has the best music over all the other mixes, and the soundtrack was excellent. I also liked 6th a lot, too.

I don't understand how anyone can say Extreme had a good soundtrack/non-stop megamix. No one wants to hear a ten-minute long version of Trip Machine/Paranoia/Max300. It's awful on the ears.

The megamix on 5th is brilliant (heh, I love that announcer) especially with the megamix versions of Matsuri Japan, Afronova Primeval and Synchronized Love. And 5th mix had B4U Glorious Style, CSFIL Speed Mix, and all the Smile.dk stuff (well, the OST didn't have Butterfly but oh well), but more B4U Glorious Style!

the best megamixes ever, for ddr, are tied between 3rd mix and solo2000. back in the days when they put effort into remixing songs for soundtracks. not to mention totally killer songs, especially on solo2k

I agree w/ Mr. cfusionpm, the 3rd and Solo non-stop megamixes are the best. The newer ones suck in comparison.

As for 6th having the best OST, two words: So Deep.

And the 7th OST does suck the big one.

The Extreme OST is missing many songs because they exist on other OSTs already. Konami rarely duplicates songs across OSTs.

Pink Rose = KBM 3 OST/KBM Full Size Collection
Gamelan De Couple = Mambo A Go Go OST
Sakura = IIDX 8th Style OST
Frozen Ray = KBM 3 OST (IIDX 6th Style OST has the extended version, not game version)
V = IIDX 5th Style OST (V on Extreme is the "~for extreme~" version)
.. and so on.

Frozen Ray, L'Amour et la Liberte, Colors, V are all included on the OST because they are different (~for extreme~) versions.

The only songs you're pretty much guaranteed to have on the OST are the ones that appear under the 'DDR Extreme' sort-order selection. Everything else you'll have to find on other OSTs.

This isn't the first time Konami didn't put some of the extra songs on the soundtrack -- none of the IIDX unlockables from 5th Mix were on the soundtrack.

Still, the one thing Konami SHOULD have done was to put the home version exclusives such as Look to the Sky (True Colors Mix), or Drop the Bomb (System S.F. Mix) on the soundtrack, since they aren't on any DDR soundtrack yet.

I voted for Solo..just because it's such a cool mix..

When it said Soundtrack I was under the impression it meant "the soundtrack of the CD you can buy that includes the megamix", not "the song selection."

So I chose Solo..I almost chose DDR Max but I just like Solo's soundtrack too much.

Sakura isn't on DDR Ex OST because it's the exact same version on IIDX.
