The last time I had a girlfriend I showed her DDR. I'm not sure what she thought of it, but I know she wasn't thrilled. I guess playing arcade games is kind of odd, and a game like DDR is even more offputting. It's a hobby the I genuinely enjoy, and it would be nice to have someone as enthusiastic as I am about it. It's not a huge deal though, I have many other hobbies other than DDR. DDR is not the kind of hobby I would plan to meet a signifigant other at in the first place.

Really, playing DDR is the last thing that comes in mind when I'm considering dating a girl. I'd much rather date the person than their hobby.

The way I see it, most of the people that I've met playing DDR have a lot of the same interests IE: anime, computers, video games... It's not just DDR that attracts me to that person. I've never sat there and said it's a requirement for me to date someone that plays. I just feel if I meet someone while playing and we get to know each other really well and get along, I'd go out with them...

hmm. i've made a lot of really good guy friends through ddr but none i've really been interested in. o.O why would guys play ddr just to pick up girls? ... i've seen girls play and everything but i think guys really really dominate ddr. anyways.. i dunno. i think anyone can meet at any time.. anywhere.. just as long as theres that little special connection. XD okay ya.. i just restated the obvious there

It's a wierd feeling when DDR people look down on other people for trying to connect with someone.

DDR, good looks, nice hair, the body. Not all neccesary to pick up people but hey, whatever works.

Just wanted to make myself VERY clear about this post. I NEVER started playing DDR just to meet guys or whatever, I can do that elsewhere, belive me, I don't need a video game for that

! I just thought "how cool would it be if I had a guy who played DDR, then we could go together." It's like Rychan said, the people who play DDR have a lot of the same common interests, like anime and dancing, ect. So I just thought it would be all to perfect to have a good looking guy who plays. Well, I was right! I'm now dating Akito, and wow, well, thats all I can really say, WOW. We spent the entire day together just playing DDR and hanging out, how great! And since he's like a DDR God, hes gotten me to try harder level 8's and 9's now on heavy, its great. So yeah, just didn't want everyone to misconstrue my intentions of this post, just making a comment, not trying to find "that perfect someone," just so happens that I did!

Playing DDR and hoping/trying to meet girls: Okay
Playing DDR just to meet girls: Dumb
Liking to play DDR with a girl: Okay
Liking a girl because she is good at DDR: Stupid

I've met maybe half a dozen cool girls through DDR, and a LOT of cool guys, but I'm not really into guys, if you know what I mean. I'd say that I know half of my friends because of DDR (even if they don't play, just friends of players), and nearly all the local friends I have are because of DDR. I don't have hardly any friends at my school. Yay for DDR!

There's a few girls around here that play DDR. They're all pretty nice, but I don't know about dating them solely because we both play DDR, because we probably wouldn't have much else in common. If I got to know them pretty well though, I might.

UGH. Playing DDR is not dancing for me. If someone says I'm dancing while I'm playing, they are terribly mistaken, because I am a lousy dancer, but I'm good at DDR.

Hmmmmmmmm wow, what a fascinating topic. I'm younger than pretty much every guy I meet at DDR. I play at Purdue Union, so it's mainly college guys, and they're like brothers. I've had guys my age try to ask me out cause I can pass a cata or 2, but it's rather...fake. There's nothing wrong with dating a DDrtist, but don't make a production out of it, know what I mean?
