I can pass every song on 6th style (home version) L7 but G2, The Safari, Get on beat and The Strong Jaeger(sp?) still give me loads of trouble. Should I continue onto 7 key or try to pass these songs first? _________________

In the beginning, I think 5th's probably easier to start out with. They both have Beginner mode, but 5th's seems easier than 6th's.
However, as time goes on, I think 6th becomes easier, because of HS4. I can beat stuff like DXY! Another no problem on 6th with HS4, but DXY! Another still makes me sweat on 5th Style, because I'm limited to HS3.
I guess it really depends how much you're planning on depending on High Speeds. |

I usually use HS1 on songs that give me trouble in L7, like Deep In You and Shine On. Thanks CstarFlare. _________________

hay i have some noobish questions.
for a system that will only be used for US and JAPANESE bemani imports of PS1 and PS2 what is better a PS2 cover/case mod or a mod chip?
where is the cheepest place to get a IIDX controler? is 81$$ cheep for a IIDX controler?
how many songs on 6th style?
how long tell 7th style comes out?
is any IIDX songs as easy as DDR songs?(and i dont mean SO DEEP(perfect sphere mix)Hvy Dubbles or Legond of max heavy dubbles i am talking about look to the sky on standered sort of dificulity?)
if so what ones?
beeing a compleate Noob who loves DDR and para para paradice. what style 5 or 6 has more DDRish sort of songs. like i want burning heat Full option mix and Kagume? what mix should i get(i am sure your sick of this sort of question)?
is there a decent buyers guide for Beatmania IIDX and accesorys? like a price guide? and how relyable the venders are? _________________

What exactly does high speed do? In other words, if I use HS1/2/3/4 on a song with X bpm, at what velocity/effective bpm do the bars come down the screen? _________________

It just so happens that I'm in the process of researching modding and IIDX stuff so I'l try to answer your questions.
1. Personally I'm going with the Flip Top case mod for my PS2. Mod-chips can be risky and there's soldering involved.
2. Well the cheapest I've seen is Yes Asia but they're sold out right now. And I'd say 81 dollars is cheap. Most are around 100.
3. About 70
4. 7th Style hasn't even been announced yet and it's up in the air as to whether it will be.
5. Well there are star ratings from 1 to 7 like DDR. And with 6th Style there is a Beginner's mode to help you get started.
6. Can't help ya there...
7. Well here is the song list for 6th Style: http://www.bemanix.com/details.asp?id=40
It's pretty trance heavy while DDR isn't so much. But there are a lot of songs here that are also in DDR (Colors, V, Holic, etc.)
8. Not that I know of.
And now it's my turn to be the n00b. Could someone tell me exactly what Light 7 is? _________________

This was answered just a couple pages ago, I think. But whatever, I'll answer because I'm bored
Light-7 is an easier version of 7-key, basically like an "easy" mode, compared to 7-key, which could be considered "normal" or 7-key[a], which could be considered "hard".
Don't get me wrong, though, L7 is still _not_ easy...IIDX is a tough game, and almost everybody has trouble even with the easiest Light-7 songs when they first start out. _________________

Burning Heat and Kakumei originally came from IIDX 7th Style (still awaiting for Konami to announce the game, hoping to pull a pop'n music 8 kind of thing w/ IIDx 7th....) |

3rd style is VCD.
Why doesnt your ps2 like CDs though? If you've got a mod chip, you'll have to boot your ps2 differently to play cd based games (just in case you didnt know). |

Sup P.J. THX for 6th style it kick's @$$ as for you question I can only answer it for 3rd style because I don't have 4th yet ; ). If you want to use mods on 3rd style just push select at the mode select screen and the mods will show up. _________________
