Help!!!!

I have about 9 gazillion(not sure if thats a number) questions about DDR sims. First and foremost, tell me what a DDR sim is and in the most basic of terms how does it work. Second, how do I get the DDR sim to run on my computer? Third, where can I get DDR sims from? Answers to all of these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
