Does anyone go to the arcade just to show off or to smite the newbies?

Question: What were you when you started playing?

Showing off is mean and could shun people away from ever playing. Besides, n00bs are fun to play tag team games with, and I love showing people the ropes.
btw, 3 tokens for one game of DDR? That's cheap. DDR Extreme here = $1 for 5 songs. Max2 = .75 for 3 songs in a crowded waterpark with the pads placed 2 inches from the screen and the sound super loud. not to mention they run crappy tournaments.

Hell yeah man! When we had our old shitty USA machine, we used to show off our "l33t" skeeeelz! Now that we have extreme, no one cares except for when someone play one of the Maxes (Max 300, Unlimited, Legend Of Max)

I'm starting to teach myself to freestyle. As for showing off in front of noobs, I was one once and nobody did it to me. If it's a kid that thinks it's cool and has never tried it before, I'll do some really cool stuff just to impress him/her. There is hardly ever a line waiting anyway. Also, 3 hours away in Worlds Of Fun, they have the USA mix (I think it's a total waste of a mix) and it's $1 for 3 songs. That's too expensive, but hey, it is a theme park. At the local arcade (local being 60 miles away) it's 2 tokens for 3 songs or a 4 song nonstop. Jeeze, I talk waaaaaaaaay too much.......Question: What does the code button do? I'll just type something in it and find out........
Code:
Let's see, wonder what this will do

I guess, just to show newbies who bar rape whenever I play/shadow me/act like a immature jerk messin with my game by playing a game of Doubles or AAAng something showing how good I am. Therefore makin the newbie look bad and envying if they'll be as good as me. But for me I like to impress/put a show for the crowd than showoff. I only showoff if someone is bashin on my skills or I happen to get mad for somethin they said or did.

Improv'n on doubles! The general response is "wow she can play that arrow game and make it look good too." But I never do it around the regulars cause the sorta frown on freestyling in any form.

have you ever watched someone play DDR who was just trying to hit the arrows? It's boring as hell. Arms to thier sides conserving all energy and looking like damned Frankenstien doing Riverdance. You have to look good.

I agree with you. Many people improve their skills faster by only playing technically. It looks better and is more fun if you play actively.

LOL. Dead on! I've been trying to tell my friend that he looks like an A$$ while he plays, now, i don't FS myself (i am intrested in trying it) but i don't think i look like a drugged monkey while i play either.

People have told me I make DDR look so easy. Maybe that was after their n00b attempts at light mode singles, while I go to standard/heavy doubles. Heh. I do it because it's the most fun, and to show off. If I see someone in the window on the DDR machine as I drive by, the chances of me stopping in to play probably triple.

I like to step softly or confidently and move my body smoothly (which maybe looks "good") but noticed my arms do tend to hang at my sides. Freestyling isn't very easy for me. I can only think of three places where I regularly put a 360 into my "dance".

i find that my arms also have a tendancy to hang a little when i dont have any nifty moves to do. whihc is why i started to freestyle..people dont focus on your arms that much when your spinning and whats not. if i have a crowd..i usually start to clap while playin backwards just to do something and then every1 claps. lol. quite funny..i have all the spectators brainwashed...muahhahhaha!

huh? >_>

I do them all the time E7.gif they're the best on Orion .78 Ameuro when you have that huge stream of down arrows. Just bounce on your ass. I do it all the time, and I can go right back into playing the song normally afterwards E4.gif

Y'think that hurts? Try playing On The Jazz using just the ass. *That* is a bad idea.
