Best Hits has a great collection of older songs. Though it may only have about half the songs of either 7 or 8, the selection is quite good. Sana voicing Aoi pop-kun was a special treat, too ^^

pop'n 8 does also have an excellent song list, but it seems to carry a higher level of difficulty all-around. Personally, I'd go with both at the same time. I still play Best Hits for mahou no tobira ^^;;

If you're talking about the same one I'm thinking of, you need to pass a song and have your score end with the number 8. Weird huh.

btw. I don't know what gives you the Bonus stage, but you can know when it is coming. At the press start screen, the two characters (forgot their names) will be dressed in green camo gear and jumping higher and their speech bubbles will say something different.

For Linus, 321 Stars, and Manhattan Sports Club: They are all unlocked on the game board (Sangokurosdfhjsmjeeeeeewhatever 8) The Robot guy will go spaceship style when he lands on the right spot, and jet up to one of those islands on the board, and unlock one of the three songs, plus its corresponding character. Also, if you've unlocked the Simon course, which I got way before these three songs, you can play Manhattan Sports Club and 321 Stars that way a little earlier than unlocking them separately.

wow. I need to make shorter sentences.

Another question about Pop'n 5:

Where is Sanae-Chan's song? She's in the Pop'n 5 manual, but I can't find her AT ALL in the game.....what gives?

Also, another quesiton ontop of the one I asked two posts up:

Are there any Pop'n Music 5 FAQs out there? (in english)

GameFAQs has hardly anything, and the only things I get when I look it up at Google or Metacrawler are sites to buy it at. I really need a Pop'n 5 english FAQ so I don't have to bug you guys for this stuff.

But even then, the only thing left I need to know is where Sanae-chan is....was that a mistake in Pop'n 5's manual or something?

Hello everyone,

Hey I am new to pop'n music and was wondering if you can play it with a IIDX controller? I seen the price for the pop'n music controller and i don't think i would spend that much for one E4.gif

Oh yeah how is the gameplay with a dualshock ps controller. is it still playable and fun?
Thanks guys

Uh im pretty sure a IIDX controller wouldn't work, there are only 7 buttons on a IIDX controller and there are 9 in pop'n. However I dont know if you would be able to do 5 key.... I doubt it tho.

You should check out the Pop'n Music section of the Bemanistyle.com forums.

I dont remember which topic, but I know they just had a discussion that exact topic.

yeah, battle mode is really fun esp since I beat you so badly in it.

Funny, you left your ASC here overnight and for the whole day, yet I didn't take advantage of it at all...played like 3 games.

I dunno, just everytime I pick up the big colorful controller and attempt to place it on my lap my one year old niece comes over and shakes her head in shame and goes "dude that's so gay", and I go back to playing IIdx.

ok, I kid. I think Pop'n Music is great, and if I ever have 400 bucks to spare, I might consider getting my own ASC. Till then, I'll lounge off your's, and keep myself occupied with IIdx.

yeah, as i remember we were 2-2 when we stopped, and was right in the middle of my comeback.

You know, you can map each scratch direction to the white keys. it doesn't sound like it would work, but it does.

I know someone asked before, but I don't remember seeing an answer--does anyone know if you can play the Dreamcast Append discs on an American DC? And if so, how?

i'd be one of the people that informed david about the iidx connection. I play IIDX on my Pop'n ASC all the time (it's actually really fun). I'm not sure about mapping the leftmost yellow & white to the turntable on a IIDx controller though, I've never opened my IIDX controller to see how they were mapped.

I remember reading somewhere that there was someway to "cheat" to get to the S-------- de 8 or whatever board to unlock songs faster, but I'm not sure I understood. How is it done?

ARGH. I'm missing two songs, I know one is Linus, but I have 321 Stars and Manhattan Sports Club. I may have accidentally missed a Live song, but I doubt it.

Anyways, Cryin' and Artemis are the best songs in Pop'n 8.

Wow... I played Pop'n 8 due to a friend here having it (thanks Curtis!), and I have to say that might be one of the best games I've ever played... I'm definatly going to get it now... The small home controller isn't that bad (EXTREMELY responsive), but I'd still want a big one eventually.

You're missing Truama Punk (which quickly took the no.1 spot away from 777). You get it when you get 100% on the game board.
