Khor: You need to take it to be printed at your local Kinkos/copy place.
Which style of pad is generally considered easier, Riptide or DDRHomepad? I'm trying to decide which to make but right now I'm leaning towards DDRHomepad because WMP tells me it can't read the 1st Riptide video... |

Ok, stupid question time.
When making the supports that go beneath the arrows, do I use the 1x2'' MDF, or the 1x3'' to screw into the small squares of pegboard.
Also, I could not get the brackets to be perfectly flush with the rest of it, is that a common problem? |

Is it okay to put cardboard underneath the weather stripping 'cause the weather stripping I have is a little too small, and if I ad some cardboard underneath it, it's perfect. Yey or Ney? |

DDRHomepad's is a lot easier and more reliable. Read my post a couple pages back. I listed lots of info about this. _________________

Scott, you should use something like tin foil to illuminate the light throughout the whole arrow well. Just my 2 cents CDN. |

Its been a long time sence I assembled the circuits, so I think the text on the image is right.
Basically when you connect that lead and the button's positive the first transistor tells the other transistor to let flow (5 volts from the USB) through to the led (high intensity 5V leds).
The problem with this is that the transistors (no name from radioshack) I got don't seem to allow enough power though to light up the LEDs as much a I wanted
I think I used NPN transistors, but like I said eariler can't remember much. |

Does anyone have a diagram for a mad catz beat pad control board? I'm looking at it and have no idea what does what or is it just easier to get the cheap ps controller and use it? |

Can someone help me out with the soldering? I'm practically done with my DDRHomepad design pad, but I've nevre soldered in my life and it isn't quite working out. I'm using a 15w soldering iron and "standard" width resin core solder from Radio Shack. For some reason, the solder isn't sticking to the metal (the Lowe's plated metal listed in the instructions; Home Depot didn't have the stuff I was supposed to get). Also, where should the iron be in relation to the solder and solder points? I know you're supposed to put the iron down first, then the solder, but the solder doesn't seem to melt unless I put the iron directly on top of it. |

Figured you guys might be interested in these:
http://sales.goldmine-elec.com/prodinfo.asp?prodid=8260
We just bought 4, and are gonna try them out, hopefully one per arrow will be enough to light them nicely. And it'd be mostly even light, unlike an LED. The only problem is that it's white, but that's easilly fixed through printing your arrows on certain materials, or covering the light with some form of colored transparent thing (like Patster did).
I'll keep you guys posted on how they work out, should have them tested within a week or two. If they work well, then these look ideal, especially for $5 each. |

I just made a pad based on RipTide's design and it works flawlessly when I play in my socks but when I use my shoes it has a hard time recognizing my steps. I don't know what exactly I'm doing wrong but I'm wondering if anybody else experienced the same thing and if there's any way to modify the pad or if I have to step lighter/harder becuase it kinda hurts to play fast songs in your socks. _________________

Hey guys, i havent posted here in a while.
Im selling my blue beefman style dance pad, It used to work AWESOME, but it has some bugs that need to be fixed, just with the buttons.
When its fixed, its awesome, The highest combo i got with it was 632.
After about 30-60 minutes of fixing it up, it will work awesome.
As of now, i have a buyer, but if he doesnt want it anymore, i will sell it to anyone else that wants it.
AIM me for pics and other info.

About the lights i referenced here:
http://sales.goldmine-elec.com/prodinfo.asp?prodid=8260
Unfortunately, 2 per arrow are basically required to get some really nice lighting. They'd work best if parallel to each other, but our arrow well is not wide enough to accomidate them from edge to edge. Rather, we have to put them from corner to corner, and perpendicular to each other. Sure, it's not quite arcade quality lighting, but it sure is a lot nicer then anyone else's lighting scheme i've seen (except Patster's, but that requires a REALLY thick pad...). The only problem is that you need quite a powerful power supply to run them, but it's all good.
In a week or two when the pad is finished, i'll post pics of the lights in action, in light and in dark, and also the internals of the arrows (Ours works a bit different then any other design; it maintains the adjustibility of Beefman's, while having contacts around the entire arrow, and not just in the corners, a la Riptide. Also, it ensures that all the contact points are -perfectly- level with each other, no variation, so that there is no need for adjustment). |

Hi,
I haven't posted in here a long time....while now. Well, I think I'll need to update my FAQ for the home built metal pad...and probably have help in doing so now.
Anyways, I have a question. I have a built ddrhomepad dance pad that I built. The wires used were 1 foot under the max # of feet to use. I was wondering if there's any way to prevent the dance pad from blowing out a game port/damaging the game port. Would an extention cord work? I think it has blown out a game port for my system =(. I have my old PS2 and it works fine with it, but the new one didn't really.
Well, any help would be appreciated. Thanks. _________________
