Well I guess I must start with formalities. Im Robert and Ive been to the site alot and figured i should start talking. I found DDR very recently and found I was good at it because I have some rythm (that helps). Im still working on my freestyle but it will get there. Ok im done.

I'm Nate, currently stationed in Ohio (USAF). My friend got me hooked on DDR Max a couple of months ago and I've been playing ever since. _________________

Question: What is a Catastrophic? It sounds like a setting from a previous verion of DDR (or an arcade version like Extreme). I'm also fairly good with anything over 7 feet _________________

Some of the older mixes had names for the feet levels. Off the top of my head I think it was 3rd Mix and I think Best Hits had it too *doesn't play the US mixes so doesn't know if it's on USA First*. Catastrophic or Cata as it's usually termed is a 9 foot song. _________________

Hey, I'm Graham, better known to my friends as Trig. I'm a staff member on DDRUK.com . And from Milton Keynes, England.
I've been playing DDR since January. I'm Cata level and can do MAX300, not much more than that
Erm... I came to DDRFreak because from looking on the forums every so often, I see it has a great community within it. And I signed up so I could post my views I hope to stay loyal, as I only post on DDRUK atm, which doesn't see much action as this, also there are users from more countries than UK on here, nice to share views. _________________

Hey! My name is Daniel, I'm 17, and I'm gonna be a senior in high school next year. I started playing DDR in like March, I think, but I've known about it for a while. I'm also interested in Japanese culture, and am learning Japanese at my high school (sannen mo benkyou sita[censor-riffic] no ni, mada heta da yo ^^). Though I don't watch much anime, I have this insane obsession with Trigun, which is definitely the coolest anime/show/thing ever.
I probably first heard about DDR a little bit before the first US mix for the Playstation came out, due to my interest in Japanese popular culture. I finally got the inspiration to play when I found out that my school has its own DDR club (and because I realized it's a good excuse for procrastination ). So I bought myself a Mad Catz pad along with Konamix and started playing like crazy. Once I bought my BNS pad, I started to play like 2 hours a day, which is helpful when you don't really feel like studying vocab for the evil SAT (damn you, College Board!! )
Though I should start playing at the arcade to help my PA, I haven't had the chance to yet, probably due to the fact that I have no job (and thus, no money), or because I know I'll look like a fool the first time I play on the arcade pads |

mixes 1-3 (arcade and home version) had terms for each difficulty (except 10-footers, which didn't exist till 6th/max)...most of the older players will still remember what they are... _________________
