finally got my first flashing 7 down, b4u :] yeah i know it's the easiest by a mile, but i'm still super-pleased with myself.
whats stranger is that i haven't played for over a week, yet i came back and beat b4u straight off first time O_O
still have about half of the 7's in 6th style to nail though, and a lot of the stuff from 3rd eludes me despite people claiming it's easier than tracks in later styles (the 'jumps' right at the end of era get me every time ), but i'm getting there :] |

I played 3rd style yesterday for the first time with some friends. Man... S.O.S. ~a tiger took my family~ is so much fun to play 7key... I couldn't believe it. A lot of the songs on 3rd style are a lot of fun. I think I may have to fork over the dough to buy it sometime soon... I just wish it wasn't so expensive now. They upped the price from 50 bucks to 80. Oh well. Looks like I'm SOL for a while.
Oh, and I finished Luv to Me ~Ucchie's edition~ [a] with 4%! It's a new record! =D I upped my score in Take it Easy 7key by like 80, and Failed it at the end. I'm a retard. Whenever I clear it, I score terribly, and when I fail I get new records. Go figure.
I also tried playing without sound at all. It's fun. I was able to clear a lot of Anothers without sound, but I scored sucky. At least now I know that if I'm deaf, I can still "play" IIDX... just not score well... yet. _________________

i know sixth and 3rd are the best styles for beginners to start out with.... but is there any news of a release date for 7th style, or are they just stopping the console IIDX games.?? |

My guess is that's probably right. I mean, the arcade versions are up to 9, and 7 has still yet to be announced for home. _________________

I've been hearing here and there that there may be some info on 7th Style in September. Mainly over at Bemanistyle.com. I don't know how reliable their source is but, it's better than nothing at all. |

They probably have few copies of 3rd Style in stock now and jacked the price of it up. They probably don't expect to get any more shipments of it anytime soon. Which is understandable. The game is quite 'old.'
I got it for $50 bucks a year ago.
I guess some importers are 'discovering' this version after getting 6th Style. Kinda like how now, 4th Style is virtually impossible to find brand new.
I've said it once, and I will say it again, people should have picked up the game when it was hella cheap. 81 songs for only $50 is a bargain.... or it was a bargain. |

Only one song left on 7K (6th Style) to clear... you guessed it! The Safari. X_x
Ugh, I am having serious issues with Dive ~Into Your Heart~ [A]. I keep finishing around 70-76%, but can't get past that. =(
I'm also finishing Holic [A] at around 24% consistently now! Wow, finally something over 2%. I'll get it eventually. _________________

I finally managed to pull some AAA's out of my arse. Not much, but I got Romeo & Juliet L7, and Comment te Dire Adieu on L7, Another, and 7-key...in that order. I took a picture of the Another, because I was proud, then I did 7-key on my first try.
Here's my most precious of scores

I must say, that going from the home version to the arcade is quite a leap.
For one, the keys seem "springy-er" not so much as to be more responsive, but just a totally different feel. I like it better than the stiff console controller's though, that's for sure. The screen however is way too dim. It's beautiful around 10 feet back, but the closer you get the darker the image becomes. I know this is a common problem with the wide-screens moniters, and our arcade hooked the thing up to projection while they get a new moniter, so that isn't a huge problem now. =)
But I mean, I can AAA Romeo & Juliet Light-7 (AA 7-Key) but while standing there with 20 or so people watching, it's tough. Barely scraped by with an A on 7-Key. It's quite disheartening to know such a difference exists, to say the least.=(
And not to mention failing Love is Dreaminess for the first time in a full year! (That I do blame on the washed out screen, blue and grey kinda blend.)
Petty complaining aside, the machine has been played nonstop for three full days. Raking in well over estimated projections, so I can see how the Beatmania scene is feeling a sort of revival. We hesitated in bringing up the 9th Style upgrade kit, I mean...it's a killer songlist, but the timing issues seem so buggy. We'll cut our teeth on 6th for a while.
Other than the coping issues, I have to admit it's pretty damn cool to have an IIDX cabinet taking up residence. Not to mention a working DVD drive with flawless video playback. An on projection! |

Man... You know how Cheez made that great IIDX spreadsheet with all the info from 4th-6th style? Well, he just made a 3rd style addition to it... and then sometime today he ran defrag, and his computer kind of died. ... and it erased the IIDX spreadsheet. Apparently he didn't make a backup. But, I still have the 4th-6th style one on my computer.
So, my question is this...
Does anyone have information on all the songs/note counts for 3rd style? If you do,... Cheez has gone through a lot of trouble making it, and I think it would probably be a good thing to help him out in retrieving it. Man, just when this guy starts getting AAA's, he loses his spreadsheet. It sucks. So, he's gonna be offline for the next few days, and if anyone can help... I'd appreciate it. Thanks. _________________

That's exactly what I do. I can combo the last 4 measures on speed 3. I can get above 80% most of the time on speed 4. Can't do it on speed 5. And it seems, the more those measures are drilled into my head, the more frustrated I get and the worse I do.
EDIT: I meant I tried it for 2 weeks in the past. I've since passed it. |

AAA + 2
Comment te dire Adieu [a]
R3 L7
=D
Edit~ A few hours later~
I played Another enough to finally get it to an overall A! =D 61992 total Expoints for Another on 6th style.
I was also 4 expoints away from an AA on Linus 7key... but, I still failed with 68%. X_x If I didn't screw up the end so bad, I would have had that AA. Grrrr...
I'm also 1942 expoints from an AA on 7key for 6th style... hrmmm... wonder if that'll ever happen. X_x Probably not any time soon. (1532 from an AAA on L7). _________________
